what makes a good headshot?

I'm going to get some headshots taken at the end of this month and I had to ask... What makes a good headshot? Obviously, capturing your personality is important and looking nice can't hurt either, but what is something specific that I can make sure I look for in my headshots?

Thanks for your help!

This is not 100% the story with opera shots since our business expects something more formal than they do for screen and acting, but I think that both of these articles are marvellous and make some of the key points (links to the sample shots at the bottom of the article)
