Right, a nicely cut bob is never out of fashion. But cutting a couple year's growth off of your hair is a tough decision. Keep in mind that caring for a bob will be less challenging than hair at mid-back length.

A properly cut bob (read that as being done at a good salon) is about as low maintenance as you can get (other than going VERY short). Notice that in a lot of fashion photos, mags for men and women, that a lot of guys are going with a longer look this year - not quite a traditional bob, but not too far away either. And, men usually don't like high-maintenance styles.

I'm in my early 20s and I have long thick golden hair to my upper thighs. I've had this long for the past 3 years and always way past my shoulders all my life.. but lately I was thinking of cutting it and considering the bob but wasn't sure. Did you do it? Do you think I should? How short were u going to go?

Hey there -

I know it's probably too late, but I wanted to offer my services. I run a group called "Cyberbob" on Yahoo where I give e-cuts...you send a photo, and I'll cut it into a bob and you can see if you like it or not.

Please feel free to send a photo to Frances_joanne@yahoo.com I'd be happy to "bob" you :)

Later,

Joanne

Dear Frances_joanne@yahoo.com,

Hello. I saw the above Message title e-mail on BobCut.com website Forum today.

I am interested in a hairstyle change; something lower maintenance than my present past-shoulder length wavy/straight hair. I had the Japanese straight perm in 8/04 and it ruined my hair despite straightening it. I sustained much breakage and thinning my hair's body.

A woman I corresponded with last year by e-mail told me about her company's hair straightening product (CurlAway) and I've used two versions of it with increasing but only temporary success in hair straightening. Now, about 18 mos. after the Japanese perm, my hair has thickened but I have not regained the length I grew to in 6/03.

I would like to send you my photo (taken 1/30/05) to have you picture me in a bob style to see how I would look. Waiting for your reply. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Rick
