Response to Re: answer from belgium

Their is a significant difference between the Taliban and the people of Iraq. The taliban actually hates Saddam Hussein and so does Osama Bin Ladin. Bin Ladin offered to personally kill Hussein in 1990 but his offer was rejected by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. So their is a big difference between them. Secondly the War was started unilaterally and without the support of the United Nations. But... in last nights speech Bush stated that America has seeked U.N. approval every step of the way. This is false. Also, All prisoners in Iraq are not the scum of the earth, certainly some of them are. But most are simply opposed to having a U.S. occupation and have been taken into custody. And the treatment of them by U.S. soldiers is an embarressment to the United States of America and what we stand for. When weapons of mass destruction werent found that is precisely why we said the war was still worth it... So that there will be no more torture by Saddam and his thugs... Now pictures of our soldiers are shown doing the same things...Hypocracy. Dont come with that crap about how that stuff happens at frat parties. Does that justify any sort of humiliation? I am not bashing Bush for the sake of bashing him. There are many others who organized this war like Wolfowitz, Perle, Rumsfeld, and Cheney. I just see flaws with the shape that the war on terror has taken. That being said if our troops are over there, it is important to support them in their peace keeping mission. Hopefully they will get the job done, help rebuild a peaceful democratic Iraq and then get out. want to read my other thoughts? look at the first post that says thoughts on terrorism, sudan, etc......
