Amnesty int. makes me laugh. They said that presently the situation in Iraq is the worst in the world and labeled the U.S. as major abusers of human rights. What they failed to notice is that more people have died in darfur, Sudan (10,000 dead, 1 million displaced) than in Iraq where Iraq death toll is around 5'000. That slut, Irene Khan-head of Amenesty took the liberies to criticize U.S. and barely talked about the Sudanese gov. arming arab militias to kill and do ethnic cleansing. With this attitude people wonder why U.S. does not support Int. justice tribunal in Brussels. If that had occured there would have been an 'inquisition' against american troops and never mind the Iraqi thugs who kill italian and U.S. hostages. Look, Amrican military are not saints but violence breeds violence. Finally, I'm almost certain that those troops who committ those heidious acts did it volunteerily and were not obliged to do so by higher hierarchy. Historically, abuses happen with every war & americans are not holier than thou. |
