Response to I've just won 50p from myself

If Michael Jackson had molested that child - then why on earth would his family have surrendered the case as soon as $22m was offered out of court?

I find it hard to believe any mother would quantify her sons well-being. Even for that amount of cash. They were, it appears, simply out to grab money. It's a shame some choose to believe the word of a 13 year old boy (probably pushed into "confessing" by his ravenous parents) over the American legal system. The case was very high profile, and I believe if he really was a paedophile, he would have been convicted as such. there must have been a great deal of investigation by Child Services as to how he treated his own children

I think he was simply a very naive man that sought to regain the childhood he never had. There is some controversy as to whether he even conceived his children naturally or via IVF. His ranch was transformed into a theme park for the benefit of needy and ill children and it's quite sad that some people misconstrue generosity for perversion.

Either way, until you produce the biggest selling album of all time Geoff and are prepared to attempt to better the moonwalk and sing "Thriller" to a better standard, I really don't think you can complain. Turn off the TV and read the news on Reuters. The media presents what the people want to hear about and which will attract the widest audience. I think it is incredibly low to attack a persons problems. He may have had a narcotics problem, but so do many thousands of other people. Why do these sort of problems lower a persons worth in society? Are we not all born equal? Drug addiction creates dependencies, and simply "coming off" them can be more dangerous than continuing to take them.

We all know our soldiers are dying daily in Afghanistan, fighting an unnecessary war. But do we need large news spreads detailing how they are being butchered? Does excessive publication help them in anyway? No, not really. There are many protesters and campaigners fighting to bring them home.

Whether you want to accept it or not. The death of Michael Jackson is a big issue. He had an enormous fan base, influence and possessed rare talent. You look on MTV at the moment and name one artist that possesses the same skill and appeal as he had.

If you don't want to hear about it, fine. But speaking ill of the dead (and UNFOUNDED rumours surrounding them) reflects badly upon you.
