Response to Re: If..

You would feel the "media circus" went too far when they reported the death of Princess Diana or any other popular figure? Jade Goody would be the most recent example.

It's the result of the cult of celebrity and you must see the BBC has to embody this in its reports. Yes, as license payer you are full well entitled to criticise, but do consider they are presenting what they feel the public at large would like to hear about. Out of interest; are you specifically criticising the presentation of the death of Michael Jackson, or would you feel the same if another celebrity/public figure died? They do present biographical segments on the more well known figures - not just Jackson. I'm sure its non-specific.

To many holding tickets, I'm sure it would be incredibly relevant. I have a friend that spent in the region of £200 for tickets at what would have been his opening show at the O2 Arena. I can't call myself a fan. Neither am I trying to impose the tacky media circus on the "rest of you" (out of curiosity, when did you become a collective body?). I simply felt your criticisms (based on your own assumptions) were unnecessary.

I'm willing to concede, however, that the quality of BBC reporting has been poor of late. The Channel 4 News is much more thorough.
