I have been unlucky enough to suffer three breakdowns with my car, luckily all of them were within a ten mile radius of where I live, but I doubt if your local garage would recover you if you broke down on the south coast or in scotland, or in the middle of the night.
Much as though it seems like a waste of money joining a NATIONAL or even INTERNATIONAL breakdown organisation it is something that I would recommend doing - yes it is an insurance policy but you have house insurance don't you, and when did you last question the value of that?
