      Geoff, it has surely occurred to you that at your club you will be mixing with a very narrow sample of humanity? I bet you are not even the eldest of them.

      Is such a group likely to include people who have ever purchased one of Mr Jacksons musical offerings?

      Now as it happens I have never been an enthusiast for pop music of that kind, even in the summer of love I was listening to John Mayall and Dave Swarbrick. And I find the assertion that Mr Jackson was personally responsible for innovation in a world dominated by big money somewhat laughable. But I am prepared to concede that there are other views and that the News is entitled to represent that, no matter what my personal view about the depth of coverage
