I've got a friend who has been a Morris Dancer since she starting walking (her mother is a Bourne Borderer). On occasion, I've been with her taking part in various dances and children always seemed to enjoy the costumes and instruments. Many joined in. With the increasing violence and graphic imagery on TV and in video games - how on earth can a child be scared of a morris dancer?

However, children can be scared by the strangest things - I'm regularly reminded of my childhood fear of fire extinguishers. I'm pretty sure I was a minority though....

Back to topic, if these traditions continue to be banned, the traditional English Country Fayre will be in the history books. Isn't apple bobbing at school fêtes banned as well? And Sponge throwing?
