There was an earlier debate (15 & 16 Apr) in this forum under the heading 'Skateboard kids say no problem'. Whilst I do not think that the Abbey Lawns is a suitable area for a skateboard park, neither do I think that the Wellhead Gardens is any more suitable; both areas are surrounded to an extent by housing and I would hazard a guess that local residents would not be too impressed by the construction of a skatepark in the near vicinty of their properties. So where to put it? I don't know! But, has anyone driven past the skateboard park in Spading (near Fulney church). The site is a disgrace (IMHO) and the litter and debris around the skateboard area serve as an example as to how little concern the users have for their facility. Or would others say that it is passers-by who are depositing the litter, and not the skateboarders? An emotive subject, to be sure.
