Rules of Negotiation and Our Demands:

1) Make us laugh. Or die trying.
2) Don't be surprised if you find yourself verbally pistol-whipped. It's all in the spirit of fun.
3) We want a helicopter...because hostage takers always ask for one in the movies, right? We don't ride no stinkin' buses. If you don't have a helicopter, make rotor noises by thumping on your chest while you linger, at least.
4) Don't be surprised if a cheese monkey mistakes you for a mate while you make rotor noises. Feed the cheese monkey at your own peril.
5) We're out of cheese. Bring cheese.
6) Papi's rule: Refrain from using the word "pussy" during negotiations, or risk the wrath of a scrawny Texan.
7) Take the feuding and flaming elsewhere. We're kinder, gentler hostage takers.
8) We want lots of bubble wrap. Stand-offs can be a bitch.
9) Run your cat through the shredder before entering. There's nothing like the sound of a screeching cat to break the tension.
10) Tell the SWAT team to keep their distance. But you're welcome to join in if you're new here. Don't be shy!

I tried to create a board at A Burning Question, clicked process and..nothing. So I tried here. There were too many complaints about EZboard and Goober couldn't even post there. I'm hoping he'll rejoin us here. Lanza too. I hope this passes muster. Let me know what you think?

What does "no score for this post" mean?
Are you earning points for certain posts?

I work way too hard. I tried twice to create a forum at the Burning Question, and both times the browser disappeared when I tried to process them. I looked at a few other places, but was unimpressed. Then I found this board host. It has less features than Ezboard, but is similar in format, but it has banner ads instead of pop-ups. Registration is also optional. I just want a home where everyone is happy. This place seems cool.

The scoring thing is to rate posts. You have to be logged in to use it. It's optional, so I can disable the feature. It's not going to be used seriously by anyone here anyway. Case in point: I gave myself 5's and you guys 1's in this thread. Ha ha! Take that!

You really like to push Yahoo groups, Shorti, don't ya? I'm guessing you're a shareholder. heh

Why not Yahoo:

1) I'm mesmerized by pretty colours, and quite frankly, Yahoo is ugly.

2) I don't think you can use banners and buttons there, can you?

3) You have to register to even view a Yahoo forum. Some people don't want to or won't take the time to do so.

4) I like this format for viewing posts rather than making a separate click for each post.

I'm hoping everyone likes it here, but I do appreciate your suggestion.

Only because there's no half a point option. heh. I imagine the pop-ups would drive away any potential new posters. It's not much good if some people couldn't post at all either.

God, Shorti..I checked out your movie discussion forum, and yeah, I don't like the look of Yahoo forums at all or the format. Sorry.

You go right ahead and make your place the way you want it, Rick. Hell, we're used to your lack of taste by now.
The thing I'm wondering about this board is the button at the bottom of the respond page that says, "Insert Object". What type of kinky board are you setting up here? I've got a feeling that Lanza and Goob will be back soon. Just pray to your Canadian God that she doesn't bring one of those pink flamingoes to insert. You know, kind of as a house warming gift.
I'm also pretty sure that Lisa B. could have a thriving punishment closet business here.

I stand corrected, but their boards do have that distinctive Yahoo look, and I don't care for it. And I like it here! Pull up a chair, I'm sure this place will grow on you if we can just get Papi to clip his toenails somewhere else.

Hey Papi, I disregard comments about my sense of taste that come from people living in trailer parks. I'm inserting one of my fingers right now. Can you guess which one? heh

Actually, I'm kind of tempted to press that button. I wonder if I stick something in the cd-rom tray, will it travel through cyberspace and end up here?

It's hard to explain. Having played in Yahoo sports fantasy leagues, I can tell that the Yahoo message boards use some of the same design. A colour bar on a board looks the same as one in a Yahoo user profile. I just don't find the look very appealing.
