1) Make us laugh. Or die trying.
2) Don't be surprised if you find yourself verbally pistol-whipped. It's all in the spirit of fun.
3) We want a helicopter...because hostage takers always ask for one in the movies, right? We don't ride no stinkin' buses. If you don't have a helicopter, make rotor noises by thumping on your chest while you linger, at least.
4) Don't be surprised if a cheese monkey mistakes you for a mate while you make rotor noises. Feed the cheese monkey at your own peril.
5) We're out of cheese. Bring cheese.
6) Papi's rule: Refrain from using the word "pussy" during negotiations, or risk the wrath of a scrawny Texan.
7) Take the feuding and flaming elsewhere. We're kinder, gentler hostage takers.
8) We want lots of bubble wrap. Stand-offs can be a bitch.
9) Run your cat through the shredder before entering. There's nothing like the sound of a screeching cat to break the tension.
10) Tell the SWAT team to keep their distance. But you're welcome to join in if you're new here. Don't be shy!
Nope..as usual, I'll wait until it comes on cable in a year or so. It's supposed to be really good though from people I know that saw it. It HAS to be better than M Night Shyamalan's last flick, Unbreakable. It's good to hear he's back on track. Why Mel instead of Bruce this time?

I want to see this movie, it looks good.
Mel has much prettier eyes than Bruce.

Among other things, I'm sure. Mel's fine, don't worry! Sheesh..you've never shown an interest in anyone's eyes here.

Well we just never got on the subject of eyes before I guess. I have always looked at people's eyes, even before I became an Iridologist. For some people, their eyes are easier to "read" than their body language as far as what they are thinking or what type of person lurks inside them.

[puts on his shades] You're not looking into my soul, devil woman.
It doesn't take an iridologist to know what a man is thinking, and I'll bet a male iridologist couldn't come close to figure out what a woman's really thinking.

What do your eyes tell you? Run!!!?
Ooh..I haven't had a good rock fight since I was a kid. Maybe it's for the best we had snow for half the year though.
You can't use asterisks to surround action sequences on this board. They automatically put the text in italics. From here on out, I decree we use square brackets instead.

My eyes tell me that my left kidney has had too much to deal with over the years. Exactly over the kidney area of my left eye are the words "NO MORE PARTIES"
They also tell my my stomach is shot. Both eyes say
"Forget Trying to Digest Anything ever Again"
Directly on top of the pupil is a yellow warning sign that says "We are warning you, the kidney's are going to quit".
You know you really need a board that accepts asterisks. Brackets are not as pleasing to the eye.
You didn't know my magical powers could shatter the rock before it got to me did you?? evil grin
Ha!

Well, I figured you'd use common sense and stop using asterisks since they don't display the intended result. Typical of a woman not to listen.
Did you consider the possibility that your eyes are pulling your leg?

Nope my eyes aren't pulling my leg. I had some tests run. They tell me the left kidney is failing to do it's job. Guess I am going to have to get tough with it.

I play Operation. I didn't say I was good at it. Don't worry, you don't run on batteries, so I assure you there will be no buzzing when I take out your kidney.

I hate to admit this but, am I the only one who thinks that Mel overacts sometimes?
I prefer Bruce any day.

I'd say Mel only overacts when doing comedy (Lethal Weapon, What A Woman Wants). His facial expressions get exaggerated. I say Bruce underacted in Unbreakable. They're both usually good though.

Bruce in Unbreakable

Bruce did not underact. First, he was a cartoon character, supposed to be flat and sort of emotionless. Second, there were emotional scenes cut from the movie that really were needed....but it was too long I guess. I've seen the deleted scenes and they were some of the ones that would have added some depth to Bruce's character. However, the intent was to make him 2 dimensional like a comic book hero.

Lou Diamond Phillips? I count three "l"s. I heard they're thinking of renaming the Oscar to the Diamond award and the statuette will bear Lou's likeness.
I know Bruce's role was a somber one in Unbreakable. He could have just mailed in his performance because it didn't require depth. Maybe it was out of his hands that scenes were cut. The film definitely needed to give us a reason to care about his character. I just think it's a joke that some people I've talked to tout this as a great movie. They might have tried to make it great, but they failed.

The movie, Unbreakable

This movie can only be effective if you get it. In other words, a comic book character CANNOT have dimension. This is what the movie was about. Bruce had no hand in it, some of the better scenes were actually cut. I mean, nothing can outdo his role as Malcolm in Sixth Sense, he was SO excellent, controlled but emotional....I loved it. However, Unbreakable has it's moments, it's not as good a movie at all.

I didn't say they had anything to do with Bruce. I was just elaborating on some of the problems I had with the movie. There are more.
I think a zombie could have just as easily played that role. I'm just saying it wasn't a challenge. And I think when it comes to dramatic acting, Mel and Bruce are both very good.

but Bruce is better. At times during Mel's scenes I realize that he's acting, he appears fake. In Bruce's movies, I totally forget that he is acting.

It's not like their judgment is that great anyway. Voting members don't necessarily even watch all the performances in categories they vote for-and that's just not right. Someone else they snub is Jim Carrey. To win Golden Globe awards yet not even get nominated for an Academy Award? What a joke.

His portrayal of Andy Kaufman. He deserved consideration for The Truman Show as well, I think.

Have to agree about the Andy Kaufman thing. Who else could have played the role of Andy Kaufman? That would have been a tough part for most actors.
Where as I am not so sure Truman was Academy Award material, it was a good movie. I also like Mask!
Jim Carrey is good at what he does in my humble opinion.

There is enough drama in the news everyday.....
I'll take a good comedy anytime!
Bruce nor Mel nor anyone else I can think of off hand could have done the Andy Kaufman story.

Mask? What's the Cher movie have to do with this? It's The Mask.
I didn't say he deserved to win for the Truman Show, but I think a nomination was possibly warranted. If not for that, definitely for Man in the Moon. His portrayal of Andy Kaufman was very convincing. In my opinion he's proven he can be a dramatic actor-which is probably easier than being a good comic actor.

Calm down dear I was agreeing with you!
Forgive me for my overlooking the "The"...I am old you know.
Heck I would nominate Betty White for her part in Lake Placid!
I think Jim Carrey is good, and he played Andy Kaufman like no one else could have.
