Almost all vertebrate lifeforms have offspring with proportionately large heads and eyes and it's only natural that evolution would select toward an instinctual need to protect anything which fits that model. Perhaps this is why we feel such a strong but otherwise inexplicable urge to collect and covet these Dollfies, anime, and black velvet paintings.
