The problem is that your computer automatically associates the extention cnf as a speed dial thing. Don't worry, all it does is try to make it open in a program that can read speed dial stuff. It doesn't do a thing to the actual cnf. So go ahead and save it, it's still a real cnf.
If you want to change the association, right click on the file and click "open file with..." or something like that. Tell it to open the file with your viewer, and click the checkmark that says "always open in this program" (I think). There's another, more permanent way to change this, but I can't remember, since I found it on my computer by accedent. I'll look and tell you if I find it again.
