I ran into that same problem, I couldn't find a stray pixel, everything looked fine. So I loaded it back into my paint program and used the magic wand on the background, and there I found a stray pixel that was just barely off color from my background! So, I inverted the selection and fixed it! And it worked.
You might try that.
