Dac. The fact that the vector may have been contained in an LZH is irrelevant & that the LZH in Q may have been a Kis file is totally irrelevant.

There's also the human factor. I'm sorry to say I've heard many inexperienced users say their box has been trashed by a "virus" when in fact it later came out that they were ill-advisedly trying some tweak on the Registry or some other highly sensitive area.

It's important to learn enuf about ones box & sys to keep them up & running properly, & sometimes this involves various degrees of deductive forensic sleuthing; but there's a universe of difference between i.d.'ing a vector of infection & plain, old-fashioned blame.
