This could be the problem

Without seeing the .cnf I can't be positive, but I suspect the problem is in the FKiSS coding. I'm not sure whether you are using in/out or collide/apart but my guess is that is where the problem lies.

If you put blonde dye in/collide with hair 'poof' it's blonde and works perfectly.

If you put comb or scissors in/collide to hair it changes to the new style. The new style, however, may also have an in/collide command which is immediately triggered, and the style after that may have one too. At this point you have confused the heck out of viewer and it isn't sure what to do. If that is the problem it can be fixed fairly easily. If that isn't the problem I have no clear idea what to suggest.
