Max, politicians sometimes win elections based mostly on their looks, but is that a good thing? Shouldn't elections be decided by the candidates' merits alone? For women this has traditionally been an absolutely no-win situation; if they're viewed as too attractive, they won't be taken seriously, if otoh they disdain the beauty-game we get jokes like this. Is Reno really any uglier than Chaney? What how ugly they might be on the inside? If my elected officials have to be judged according to trad standards of beauty I'd much prefer that were "inner beauty". Hey, I see where someone could think your joke was funny, & in a way it is; but mostly your posts here have been about defending personal & civil liberties & yet w/ such a dedication you still think it's o.k. to make jokes about a woman politician's personal appearance... & you really don't see where a female reader might sigh?
