Advice on Common In-law classby Kenzie (no login)My fiance has just obtained permanent residence in Canada but will not be leaving the UK to settle there until August. I am travelling to Canada with him and would like to apply for the common law spouse category whilst I am in Canada, the official web site says that I can do this. I understand that I should be able to stay in Canada for 6 months as a visitor, but I am worried that when I arrive I will not be admitted to Canada if this is my intention. I am also worried that Canadian Immigration will think I'm trying to obtain residency through the back door which is not the case. Does anyone have any advice on this or who have had a similar situation. Many thanks Respond to this message Return to Index
