I also noted that everyone of your comments did not have any scriptural bearing but was centered on what you or man wanted.

      1. You admit that instruments were not used due to paganism and the old jewish laws. Hmmm...since paganism and Jews are still here, why would that same decision not apply today?

      2. Psalms. Sticking your head in the sand or putting your hands over your ears does not change facts. Psalms in the NT times did NOT mean musical instruments. Nor did Paul tell us to play Psalms, he tells us to SPEAK Psalms. What is so hard about that sentence?

      3. Uhmmm...Isn't the whole point of Jesus' death and resurrection to begin a new covenenant? Did I miss something here? What has old ways got to do with Jesus and his bride? They also slaughtered calves' for sacrifices...do I need to continue...

      4. I'm trying to picture Jesus raising his hands and feeling the "Love and Spirit" of God while praying in the Garden. Nope, not happening. Wait, how did some of the other's prayer? Oh, I remember. Knealing and praying in solitude. I believe Jesus taught that it was better to prayer in a dark closet than act like some of the Jews by wearing large signs on their foreheads/necks proclaiming themselves Jews. Seems Jesus had an aversion to public displays of religiousness.

I believe Paul taught us that worship was a solemn occassion. If you wish to clap fine, just remember those around you that are trying to commune with God in a solemn manner. Your clapping is just plain irritating and distracting. So is the raising up of hands to show how much you "feel" the Spirit. What does that accomplish except as an outward sign of how great a Christian you are? God knows if your heart is in supplication, he doesn't have to see your hands up high to know that. Raise your hands all you want, but keep them out of other people's views and area. Again, you are distracting other's from their communion.

      5. Ummm...Did you actually read what I wrote above?
I have a musical talent. I love to play. It fills me with a deep peace and satisfaction. I credit God for my talent and to him I give the glory. But when I am in the worship service, I am there with others to commune with God and deepen my knowledge. I am not there for personal reasons that have no bearing on my ultimate goal. While playing an instrument, I am away from the group and acting on my own, apart. My voice is silent (I play wood instruments) and I am concentrating on the notes of the music and not the words of the song. I AM NOT PRAISING GOD! I am playing. A piano makes little difference as you still have to concentrate on the notes and coordinated hand movements, not the words or the spirit behind the song.

God gives us many talents of the flesh. Many are not authorized or are outright sins. How does that relate to whether instruments are to be used or not? Your guessing! During my ex-c of C days, I had a great talent for drinking men under the table and still walking a straight line. Little ol' me. Guess that would come in handy during Communion, hey? Oh, wait, we use grape juice....sigh...

Back on point, what does musical talent have to do with the worship service itself? Many people can't sing worth a hoot. Should they be quiet since they have no talent?

      5. I don't believe I ever said it was a sin. I said it was not authorized and it did not conform to the worship service described by the Apostles.

What I said was they are unncessary and used only for Man's pleasure and not God's. So, why are they so important to some of you? They do not add anything of value to the act of worshipping. They do not help you commune with God, they do not help you sing better, they do not allow for the actual players to join with the praising, and the instruments do not praise or speak pslams to the Lord.

My point was this: If they do not add to the worship service and only cause division in the Church, then they become a sinful issue. It is the act of dividing the Church over such a little tiny issue that is the problem. You who demand to have instruments are dividing Churches. Is a piano or guitar worth all those souls?

Is adding something that the 1st Christian's determined were paganistic correct?

    ...........................THE BOOK

What Happened At the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site; http://www.concernedmembers.com/madison

    Here is the list of players;

    5 Godly Elders
    10 Not so Godly Elders
    120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
    2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
