Whether or not you agree with his position on the dispute within Richland Hills, I was deeply saddened to read in the Christian Chronicle of the death of Avon Malone. He was a former Bible instructor of mine at Harding and we later renewed our friendship at ACU. He was a fine man who loved the Lord deeply and he is much to be admired for his steadfast life (and pretty good basketball game.)

I, too, respect and revere the life and memory of this great man of God. I learned more from listening to Avon Malone's teachings for thirty minutes than I learned from listening to some an entire semester at Harding U. Heaven is sweeter because another one of God's servants has gone home!

Saddened, but certain

October 1 2003, 9:38 PM

This is only the second time I've ever looked at this site - but because of this post, I'm glad I did. Joe Malone baptized me when I was a boy. Although I truly had no real grasp of what I was doing at the time, God was patient with me - and permitted me to make a genuine commitment as an adult. That having been said, God would not let me forget Brother Malone - and have no doubt whatsoever that Avon is now rejoicing with him. The Lord is faithful. Whatever differences we have with regards to theology or interpretation, Jesus Christ came to save sinners (of whom I am chief). Few people I've known were as rich in that certainty as Joe and Avon Malone. I look forward to seeing them again soon.

Dear Brother Malone

October 24 2003, 10:02 AM

I too was deeply saddened to find out about the
passing of Brother Malone. There has not been anyone
who has had such an impact on my life as Avon had
on my life at Oklahoma Christian. He was not only
the greatest teacher that I have ever known, but was a
great basketball coach as he coached our club team.

Thanks Brother Malone! I know you are rejoicing with
the angels!

It saddens me to read of all the hurt that is going on at RHCC. RHCC has always been my favorite church. RHCC was my church home several years ago during a time of great distress for me. Rick even baptized me. My prayer is that there can be peace and harmony through the teachings of God’s inspired word.

I found this site by doing a search for RHCC. Frankly, though I agree with some of the opinions shared on this site, I am not sure this is the best place to handle them. How can this possibly help a non-believer? I understand that we all want to deal with this issue, share our thoughts and feelings and most of all be heard. However, public discourse about painful church matters is not productive when heading the call of Mark 16:15-16.

In any case, I pray that this matter is settled in the hearts of those affected. Thank you all for the kind words about Joe and Avon. I sort of wonder what my Grandfather and Uncle would think about this matter?

In His Love,

John-Mark Malone

I think he would encourage people to stand up for what's right

October 28 2004, 9:44 PM

This site is not as "public" as some people like to say it is. I mean do you think many athiests goto concernedmembers.com? I mean how many people just stumble onto this site that aren't dealing with struggles in their churches. There may be some, but not many. With the out-right no discussion policies I've seen described at Richland Hills - Wouldn't it be better to goto the source of the problem? These errant elders. If it weren't for their poor discisions and their disrespect for God's word - this site would never have been needed.

Amen, Amen

June 30 2004, 1:40 PM

I found this website by accident, looking at various statments of belief on the internet. I agree that one semester of Avon Malone will last a lifetime. His indepth knowledge and wisdom of the Pauline epistles will be forever etched in my memory banks. He was a great man, and as someone has already pointed out, a very good "elbow" basketball player.

Avon Malone was my favoriate bible professor at Oklahoma Christian University. I satisfied most my bible requirements under his instruction. He was a great insturctor and a very nice man.

I am truly greatful for him teaching me. With the bible knowledge gained form his teachings especially Act 2:38, I was able to bring my husband to christ.

He will truly be missed.

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened At the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site; http://www.concernedmembers.com/madison

Here is the list of players;

5 Godly Elders
10 Not so Godly Elders
120 "Deacons" (allegiance unknown)
2,800 - 4,000 church "members"
2 "teners" (people who have publicly confessed to have broken all ten commandments)
Unknown number of "sinners" (This is what the 10 elders call us.)
Unknown number of "demons" (Flying everywhere, to many to count)
