I have begun a review of David Faust's spectacle at Freed Hardeman which seems bent on letting false teachers lecture and then promote their false teachings without any rebuttal.

David Faust simply ditto heads all of the books of false teaching such as Tom Burgess. He tries to prove that PSALLO commands the use of musical instruments. However, Psallo was always a warfare word and used only metaphorically of SHOOTING out hymns such as those of Apollo (Apollyon) who tuned his bow to his lyre. All of the proof texts--in context--speak of men who pluck the harp (unmanly) in order too seduce young boys whose hairs had been plucked. Apollo, too, points to a homosexual persona.

David Faust intentionally or ignorantly lied about all of the Bible just as everyone HAS to do to seduce people into the religion of the MOTHER OF HARLOTS who used music and musicians (Rev 18) as SORCERERS to deceive the whole world.

David Faust has the temple dedication with loud instruments (really noise playing one note) as seducing God into having a charismatic fit of joy: sounds like an orgy which defines all pagan musical rituals Paul called WRATH.

This fits the PATTERNISM of The Book of Enoch which defines MUSICAL DECEIVERS as those "for whom God comes with ten thousands of his angels to execute judgment." When the Cainites (sons of vipers, crooked generation (skolion singers), sons of the Devil) discovered that they had FALLEN into musical idolatry they just became MORE and more vile and COLLECTED MORE PEOPLE TO AFFIRM THEM because they knew that burning time (Isaiah 30) would eventially come.

Rubel Shelly promotes the S.U.N god to think of the SON God in "baptizing Santa" and Max Lucado in Cosmic Christmas points to the same thing. Again, don't be surprised that Apollo or the Apollyon who unleashed the LOCUSTS as musical performers, is the SUN god.

Why would one who serves the Lord's Supper, hum, sing or play instruments to PREVENT remembering the Death of Christ NOT be hypocrites? Why would someone want to SING empty-headed ditties or erotic praise songs with or without MACHINES like TRUMPETS when the DIRECT COMMAND is to READ or SPEAK "that which is written" NOT be hypocritical? Why would a preacher who needs to WARM UP the audience with complex harmony which ABRADES but deadens the perception of people NOT be classed as a hypocrite? If he uses this to ENHANCE the TAKE then why isn't Peter correct when he labels them spiritual adulterers.

OOPS, there goes the LEADER of prayers other than the presiding elder who reads some TEXT. Don't have to worry aobut wimmen doing that in an ekklesia.

In the synagogue the PRAY-ER was really the READ-ER of the Word of God. When you HYMN a HYMN as did Jesus at Passover you PRAY a prayer.

Wouldn't you say that special PRAYers, speakers, singers or musicians who CLAIM to replace that direct command and FOR A WAGE belongs to A SECT of the Hypocrites? They have rules, regulations, meetings and ways to enlist or dismiss those from their CRAFT which Alexander Campbell called the CRAFTIEST craft of all. Recorded history takes note of the professional PERFORMERS or hypocrites who would have infested the Feast of Tabernacles which was a giant fertiliity ritual TO WHICH Jesus refused to go up until the opening day was over.

Why were the PROPHETS so important:

Therefore, they are NOT speaking the message of the Spirit OF Christ in the PROPHETS who universally condemned and MARKED singing and music as EVIDENCE that they had rejected the Word and themselves had been rejected BY GOD.

Now, Atchley, Faust etal identify those who DO NOT use instruments or "machines for doing hard work" as HYPOCRITES. As one poster denies anyone the right to TEACH that which has been taught anywhere, and the autonomous congregations deny anyone to rock the boat, the claim of HYPOCRITES intends to silence everyone everywhere. One who DOES NOT use machines in an attempt to "enchant" the paying audiend is NOT a hypocrite because they make other blunders. We have shown that HYPOCRITES defined by Jesus in pointing to prophesy and identifying PERFORMANCE roles in the synagogue MARKS all of the PERFORMING ARTS as they are faithfully defined by the words for HYPOCRITES. If we were REAL hypocrites we would procure a MEGA PREACHER, use SINGERS including females to STAND OVER the flock, use Musical Minstrels to perform WITCHCRAFT or SORCERY. Everyone would FLOCK to watch us perform as speakers, singers in instrument players which Jesus POINTED TO to define a HYPOCRITE.

I have heard from two "musical" preachers who have bailed out of the general "watchtower slavery" along with the musical stance. Others probably fear to write and I can understand the danger of exercising the liberty Jesus died to give FROM the burden laders and laden burden. I don't see how honorable supporters of such wholesale spreading of false information can continue the NOT commanded "lay by and store" to support the MANY Paul called robbers. As I remember the trinity of sermons, even the memebers were warned not to challenge the elders who apparently had the "spirit" person backing their move.

The NACC has long CLAIMED that non-instrumental churches of Christ SECTED OUT of them and they INTEND to get them back. That would be as honest as Anglican - Methodists saying that the Christian Church SECTED out of them (O Kelly etc) and the METHODIST insist on recovering their stolen goods. Of course, the contemporary Christian Church sected out of the Disciples in 1926 and BROUGHT ALONG their instrumental ROOTS based on their (never confirmed) High Church authority of the Church of England. Those who have swiped and got clean away with churches of Christ CONFESS to being postmodern which rejects "strict construction" of the Bible or inspiration in general. Honorable members of the NACC denomination may not know that they believe what they believe because they DO NOT believe the Bible: especially the Old Testament. Perhaps that is why it comes so easy to even lie about the OLD MYTHS to get a "strict construction" to deliberately sow discord.

To see that NO ONE but the Pope ever approved of the right to CHANGE the Word of God to "keep up with the culture." Not even the Catholics ever "sang congregationally with instrumental accompaniment."

C. B. Arnette, Those East Main Street People and their Houses, Murfreesboro, TN, writes the history of buildings including the Church of Christ. Woodson-Choate in Blue

1. Sometime after the forming of the Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, TN a "house of worship was built" and they met in January, 1833 with Tolbert Fanning preaching the first sermon.

2. "Despite any claim to the contrary, it is unmistakably evident by 1848 that the introduction of the organ into the worship of the Restoration churches was becoming a point of contention.

3. A document was registered in Murfreesboro, TN on July 22, 1851 nothing that the East Main Street Church of Christ "has lately erected a house of worship."

4. James R. Garfield as part of the occupying army, participated in the worship of East Main Street Church of Christ in 1863. He led the communion and the singing was a capella.

5. In 1866 Alfred Blackman deeded to The Christian Church and also The Church of Christ.

6. That proves that the Christian Church after the war COULD HAVE met with an existing Church of Christ BUT had already SECTED OUT of the Restoration Movement as part of the Society and Organ FACTION. That was long before 1906.

7. J. E. Choate and Woodson, Clanging Brass, note: We suggest Restoration historians look elsewhere for causes leading to the division of the Restoration churches in 1906. As a matter of fact, churches did divide indiscriminately over the organ, North and South, and also East and West." (p. 39)

Of course NO scholar ever DEFINED Psallo as meaning to PLAY an instrument: the Lexicons simply show in WHAT CONNECTIONS the word PLUCK is used. While one PLUCKS a harp string you ALWAYS have to define WHAT is to be plucked.

There are no MUSIC words connected with the "ekklesia or synagogue or school of the Bible." In fact for those whose eyes God has not poked out and can still read black text on white paper and understand the meaning of SIMPLE WORDS, the word SPEAK was both inclusive and exclusive in the church in the wilderness, the approved example of Jesus, the practices of Paul, the command to Timothy, the definition of SPEAKING the Word and the universal practice for centuries.
