I have also been searching for any info I can find on the complete series boxed set (ok I've just been using Google).
UK Amazon say their boxed set is Region 0 (good news for Australia fans), but everywhere else says it's Region 2. I would dearly love to believe UK Amazon, however they have already made a mistake with the release date of the boxed set. They first said it was going to be released around the 20th of September, and then changed the release date to the 1st of November.
Does anyone know the real story with regards to the Region and the release date?
Is there any info at all about this boxed set other than it costing £87-£100?
Somebody here said it does not contain the new dubbed episodes.

Thanks for the info. So even if they don't come with the lost episodes, I could still buy the "Complete Series" and the lost episodes boxed set, and it would be cheaper than buying all 5 boxed sets.

If you buy the UK "Complete Series" DVD boxset (ltd to 500 copies, only available at Choices Direct) - you'll get all 52 Monkey episodes, not in the correct order - but including the 13 lost episodes, in SUBTITLED form.
If you buy the lost episodes boxed set on top of this, you'll get the 13 lost episodes in ENGLISH-DUBBED form.
So this would be good if you'd like to have the 13 lost episodes twice - in both subtitled and English-dubbed forms.

Hi - there's some confusion here. This newsgroup article I believe refers to the AUSTRALIAN boxset containing 13 individual DVDs - these don't contain the newly dubbed episodes.
The UK limited release complete series boxset containing 13 individual DVDs is something different, but it DOES contain the unseen 13 episodes, but ONLY SUBTITLED (not dubbed).
So it is correct that the limited UK complete series DVD boxset does not contain the newly-dubbed episodes - but the newsgroup article was referring to the Australian boxset.
I hope this is clear - I think I'm starting to confuse myself now ;O
I have just been reading your review about Monkey !! I have ordered it from amazon at the beginning of november and i am still waiting on it now !! they said it is delayed 3/ 5 weeks however it is now 5 weeks since i ordered !!
Have you found it anywhere else ??
If you've ordered the Monkey Complete series collection of 13 discs, then you'll never receive them - they will never have them in stock and it should not have been listed on their website.
If this is the situation - you should cancel your order on Amazon.co.uk and order it from here instead:
http://www.choices-direct.co.uk/templates/product.asp?ProductGuid=653067
This is the only online shop that stocks it.
To order individual UK Monkey DVDs, see here:

To order UK Monkey DVD boxsets, see here:

I don't know where you are e-mailing from but in my local Virgin Megastore in Northampton, each series of Monkey can be bought in box set for about £20!
Hi, I've been in touch with Fabulous Films, and this Monkey Complete Series DVD boxset is a special limited edition run (only 500 available) that can only be bought at Choices Direct:
http://www.choicesdirect.com/templates/product.asp?ProductGuid=653067
(you won't be able to place the order with Amazon or the other places, as they will not be getting it in stock - it's a mistake that's it's on the non-Choices Direct websites)
The content of this boxset? It's simply a collection of the 13 Monkey DVDs that were released in the UK in 2002 - 2003 - see:
http://www.monkeyheaven.com/dvds_order.html
These contain:
- the 39 Monkey episodes that were originally English-dubbed, plus
- the 13 unseen Monkey episodes with original Japanese audio and English subtitles
- the episodes are not in strictly correct order - one subtitled unseen episode is tagged onto the end of each of the 13 DVDs
These should not be confused with the 13 individual Monkey DVDs that were released in Australia - they contained ONLY the 39 original English-dubbed episodes, and didn't contain the 13 unseen episodes in any form.
I hope this helps - I guess it must be confusing with all these different releases... if you have any further questions, please ask - and I'll do my best to help.
Just cancelled my order on play.com (they claim it is being realeased on 20 Dec 2004). Replaced my order on choice, Does anybody know if they have it in stock yet, they say it will be despatched within 48 hours. Thanks
I know for a fact you can buy the complete Monkey box set from Amazon.co.uk as I did this week, and the complete set arrived within two days (30th Jan 2005).
