      I have my sons 91 Z28, 305 V8, while he is overseas.

Shortly after he left it, it began to just shut down at very inopportune times. But finally it just quit running.

Took it to a local shop, and they wanted to replace the Distrib for (cough) several bills.

Son said "I don't think so!"

Last fall I winterized it, put the car cover on it and there it sat. This spring I took the cover off, recharged the battery, and it fired right up, everytime for about a week, then it just quit again. And hasn't started since.

Car has an Crank Cam HS-6 ingition, with Crank Cams Coil. They seem to check out. Took cap off the distrib, and there is a good amount of rust and currosion from being around the great lakes where he bought it and drove it for acouple years.

I think it is a heat related issue with the distrib. Son says it could be the module on the right side of the Distrib. But to find a 3rd gen web site and ask the experts. So I'm asking!
