I'm now working on my 4th Camaro project. This my first race project. I had a 86 Iroc, an 80 RS nad I still have my 67 RS. I was wandering if anyone had any advice for switching out a V-6 for a 396. Springs and sub cannectors, are first thing in order. I'm not sure if the brakes are the same in the V-6 and the V-8 vars. I'm starting with a 83 plain jane with a 4 speed. any info would be greatly helpful.
HEY KEITH, I'M NOT THE ONLY CRAZY ONE. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF PUTTING A 1973 454 INTO A 1984 CAMARO. MAYBE YOU CAN HELP ME OUT, WHERE CAN I FIND THE MOTOR MOUNTS TO BOLT IT IN? I'M HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING B/B FRAME MOUNTS FOR A 1984 CAMARO. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.
If i'm not mistaken all you need is standard v8 motor and frame mounts plus hooker makes a set of headers for the swap. the motor will probably be a little tight if it's an a/c car. I'm trying to get the finances in order to put a RamJet 502/T-56 6-speed in my 89 rs.

I was also thinking about during the 454 big block conversion. How is your project going? If you have any pictures or information that would be helpful. I am still looking for all the parts and information but I think a 454 third gen, would make a crazy street machine.
