i recently bought an 89 IROC and on the key hole there is a silver plate saying limited edition. i was hoping someone can tell me more about this. thanks

maybe your door was replace with a Limited Edition trans am door.

I worked at Pep Boys years ago. They carried aftermarket keyhole sorrounds to prevent the paint on the door from being scratched from the key. One of them said limited edition in script. I have an 89 IROC w/ a 5.7TPI, and the only limited edition camaro is the 1LE. The 1LE has no power options, and 12 inch front rotors with other little add on's to make it an all stock race ready car. These are very rare in 1989.
