I love that idea. I will talk to my Mamaw. I know about scarifying, which I think is horrible...they did it to my husband when he was a baby. Cut the baby's back and put drops of blood in the baby's milk.
I always appreciate suggestions for column topics. Sometimes I get pretty desperate...as you have probably gathered.
