can anyone give me a list of internet providers for 606 area code. I am fed up with bellsouth but I know they are usually behind all the other providers. Dang Monopolies any ideas PLEASE
you still have the same outdated phone lines that were put in when the telephone service first hit the area.
We have new wire coming up to our house, but the main line is the same old stuff that was put there eons ago.
I tried to sign up with Verizon DSL the other day when I was getting the "cheap" package....("free" long distance)...told them to go ahead and install it (installation package free, 29.99 for the first 3 monthe and 39.99 thereafter)........THEN, they asked my zip code and told me how sorry they were that it was NOT available for my area!!!!!!!
And to think I was about to get excited there!!!!!!
I have a mixed opinion..I don't want to die by a terrorist hand using chemical or biological weapons but then again I hate that our young people are dieing when maybe another solution could be worked out. However, now that we are at war I totally support our troops and country.

Not me, not now. I have a friend who's been trying to get pregnant for years who finally has this month. And someone else I know who finally got a baby via adoption. I'm content with my two right now.

I am firm believer in Freedom of Speech (I just wish I had more of it. LOL) Just because we may disagree on our opinions doesn't mean we have to argue.

Much the same as here. The Euro is now worth more than the dollar. When I was there in 2001 the dollar bought many many more francs, ( about 7.5 to the dollar) this past October the dollar and the euro were about the same exchange rate. I didn't buy one thing..customs looked at me sort of funny. LOL
I saw many many fields of rape..lovely golden fields that look like sunshine laying on the earth.(this is what canola oil is made of), and I imagine the primary industries are much like they are here. Cars, clothing, alcohol.
and of course tourism.
Its a very nice country contrary to popular belief and it bothers me that we now see governments as the population. People are pretty much the same all over the world..they are people with all the same faults and the same graces. Isn't it a shame that we are sometimes blinded to this and wouldn't it be wonderful if we were not.

there have been roads coming thru there for the past 35 years that haven't came yet! People had to sell their homes.......the whole nine yards.

I know you/we still need rural areas.......I live as about as rural as you can get in VA (and love it).......but I would still like to be able to get somewhere.....any where without it taking 30 minutes each way. With the population and the traffic, even on the small (unmarked) road that I live on.......it looks like Grand Central Station traffic on the weekends. I am 11 miles from the nearest small town (with a couple banks, 2 flower shops, an auto parts, Dollar General, a couple more family owned businesses and grocery store). It's 20 minutes the best you can do........40 minutes from the next biggest town (with a Food City and just a tad more)....then another 30-40 minutes in either direction if you want a Wal-Mart or anything else.
The people are friendly, it's a nice place to live.....just so far to get anything!!
Don't get me wrong.......I LOVE where I live. Businesses just will NOT locate in small rural areas, but the people that live in small rural areas travel a long time just to accommodate them.
For instance, I went to Pikeville today and the traffic is unreal. From EC to Pikeville is terrible! US 23/460 needs to be 6 or 8 lanes instead of the 4. You have to fight your way down through there.
Then to drive through the High Narrows (High Nars).....that's another story in itself. That's like taking a loaded and cocked .38 to the side of your own head on a rough terrain.
my hubby was talking to his wife. She was waiting for her sister and I was waiting for him. I sorta have a big little problem and it's hard for me to get in and out of our truck if it's not necessary or I would have gotten out and talked with her too.
She must have said he was ok.......I heard him ask her about him.
Her sister's husband (our neighbor's son) is in Kuwait right now and will be for about a year. I really feel for them....they have 2 small children and he's such a nice boy.
