Can anyone here remember the plane crash that occurred on Tollage Creek on August the 4th 1957? I would like to know more about this & the people who were in the crash. I know that they were Dudly & Fern Bowling & that they operated Bowling Motors in Pikeville. Any info posted her would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks

Michelle Goff who was in charge of the message board and all online editions of the ANE has left for another position with a large local 'business'.
The message board is seldom renewed as are any of the items other than the basic news that is also in the paper. Whats the problem? Beats me but I know I have ceased doing any writing for them for just this reason.
I live in this area and will do some investigation, my mother would have been about 18 and maybe she remembers the accident.

how high on the mountain you're located. The latest warning I real said we could get up to 10" in the higher elevations......and I think we qualify for the "higher elevation".
Do you guys get the howling of the wind when it is windy. I go and it scares me too death, but I'm not high on a mountain like you guys but it sure can get scary
except its not to hear the creatures its to breathe. They keep my place to hot for a woman going through these tuff times such as me has. LOL Don't you just love the slain language there Big Man.
Hubby just about went in our pond (about 500' straight down) coming off a "bank" from feeding the cows tonight. He came in shaking....and it takes alot to scare him.
Needless to say, if I take a sudden urge to go anywhere, I have plenty padding to slide down the hill on. LOL
as long as you had a Ford, you could go. But at the same time complaining about "bugs".....right? I personally wouldn't recommend a Dodge. We can't keep tires on ours. The Chevy.....had power and looks, but caught fire with only 7000 miles on it. Our last luck with Ford was much less than to be desired.
I want a Navigator.....maybe if we ever settle with GM, I'll get one and give hubby my Dodge! Fair trade, huh?
Why don't you just get rid of that Ford truck you have spent enough money on it that you could have gotten a new one from what you tell us.We drive Fords, Chevys, etc. even VW and like I said don't care how they look as long as they take me where I want to go. Hey Gerri that sounds like a great deal with you and your hubby when you get finished with those guys.

white stuff on the ground now than when we were talking today. Brush Creek is like a glare of ice and the salt truck worked it twice - I bet that grandson will be happy - school is on a 2 hr. delay but I think there won't be any at all.
hubby said the roads are really bad. He almost had to put chains on to get up our hill even with 4WD.
Female Ranger is in the hospital. She called the Dr. today because of cramps. They told her to come in.....they checed her, told her to walk around a couple hours, check in the hospital around 7 p.m. If she doesn't go into labor on her own tonight, they will induce it in the morning. Her Mommy-in-law and I are on pins and needles!!!!!! They are leaving in the morning, if not sooner.
oooohhhh...I am sooooo excited!!!!!!! Hey, about 6 the roads down Brush Creek and the river were like a glare of ice - worse than earlier - so I doubt there will be school - based on what these roads are like. Be sure and let me know if we got a baby!
"Haysigal" lives...one guess only...lol...and we do have some snow/ice and the roads are pretty bad for the umpteenth time in the past month! Where do you live and can we all come visit until this bad weather passes by????????

I swear I went to Elkhorn a couple weeks ago with 3" snow on my truck.....got in town...they didn't have one drop of snow anywhere! 20 miles and just across the mountain!!!!!!
I sure wish that CExpressway would cross the mountain behind my house. I could see my parents & son in just a few minutes (when I could catch them home).
Female Ranger and hubby had a black haired baby boy. He arrived this evening and weighed in at 8 lb. 1 oz. and was 20 1/2" long. One of the very proud grandpas called me around 7 this evening. I'll talk to them again tomorrow.....
Momma and baby doing fine. The Daddy will be fine too as soon as his head goes down a little. Ha.
be over as soon as they are up to accepting visitors (like we will even be able to get near him for all those PROUD grandparents and aunts/uncles!). Good thing I didn't go out and buy pink isn't it? I have to go to the dam office on the 24th so maybe I can see him then (hopefully).
I hope to see you at the dam office. I don't think Audrea will be working the KFD this year. JFV had surgery on Tuesday. I haven't heard from him but left him a message on his machine. I'll try him again today.
but hubby and grandson won't quit hollering. We can't hardly turn the phone off right now because of the cable line. If so much snow gets in the dishes, the satellite channels will go off........talk about some upset people!!!!!!!

Seems like around town their all going under. theres Shoney's. The Western one above town now Silver. But hey who can survive paying a 6 thousand dollar a month lease. its very hard. especially around Pike right now.
Like you're one of those domestic engineers. I love being called that it does sound so much better than just a maid or mother trying to clean. Hey remember a few years back they started talking about paying housewives sure wished they would have. I'd be one rich lady. Wouldn't You?
but my hubby said it best of all why do you make that bed every morning knowing we will be getting right back in it tonight. He said do something for yourself and leave the things that are not important but hey I was raised like that and its hard to get out of keeping everything tidy
we got about 2-3 inches last night though. It melted pretty quickly.
I saw on TWC that we are supposed to get more Tues. I think. Shoot, I just take what ever comes. I can't change it anyway.....no use to worry about it.
I was keeping my 'virtual'eye on the DCDB, now those people seem to be able to party without ever leaving the house.
That was a wild old time over there...
Last time I saw such goings on there was a xerox machine involved and it was an office party.
The 'boss' had smoked a turkey for the occasion.
