B.H. promised the last time (at our kitchen table), after Dennis came off for him the first time, that he would not seek the nomination this last time. He turned tailed and did it anyway! There were things that went on in the convention that wasn't on the up and up .... or he would have been in there.

Just think about this I know a person that spent a hundred thousand dollars on a campaign and the job only paid thirty thousand a year. Ever wonder why?LOL

RE; "I Agree"

by

Been in TN off and on since 73.
Guess they've adopted this wayward Ky boy by now.
Retired officially while based in CLT, NC. But hung my hat in TN as a career commuter, except for being domiciled at ATL's Hartsfield for a time.
BTW, some Pike County folks saw the letter and were a 'bit defensive.' To make matters complicated, some were my relatives, whom I challenged about lengths of existing field lines per number of bedrooms.
Interesting, huh?
Also, I pick up 3 copies of the Appy-News supplement with all those old pictures yesterday. My Uncle Cordell took several of those photos.

SUNSPOT ACTIVITY CONTINUES BEYOND CYCLE

by

Space Weather News for August 16, 2002
http://www.spaceweather.com

AURORA WARNING: Twisted magnetic fields near giant sunspot 69 erupted on
Friday, Aug. 16th. The explosion sparked an M5-class solar flare and
hurled a coronal mass ejection toward Earth. NOAA forecasters estimate a
25-30% chance of severe geomagnetic storms when the cloud
arrives--probably on Sunday, Aug. 18th. Sky watchers should be alert for
auroras.

HEART-SHAPED SUNSPOT: Sunspot 69 is still big--many times larger than
Earth itself. On Friday it also looked remarkably like a heart. You can
see for yourself, but never look directly at the Sun. Use safe solar
projection techniques described at spaceweather.com.

Thoughts on the 'brown dust cloud'

by

Haven't done any researh on that one.

Therefore, I can only offer some unproven conjecture.

They are: (1) Man induced, in one form, or the other.
(2) Results from experiments with the
Military's 'HAARP Program.'
[High-Frequency Active Aural Research Program]
(3) Possible underground nuclear test
by India, China or Pakistan.
(4) Aerial spraying certain "Chem-Trails"
to achieve certain military
objectives.

Suggest you go to your search engine and type in 'HAARP.' I promise, you will be shocked.

I have Dr. Nick Begich's book, "Angels Don't
Play This HAARP." Facinating and well documented.

Dr Begich's Book thesis is, the military's HARRP objective is weather & people control. Orwellian, huh?

By beaming high RF energy into the upper atmosphere, the natural ionization, and atomic structure of the atmosphere is "altered" and consequently induces changes in weather patterns, such as jet streams, ect

These are my initial thoughts. Read up on HAARP, and share with me your conclusions.

Kudos,
Hillbilly Hal

Well, although frightening, I'm not suprised at anything that our government does. I mean after all haven't we all been exposed to nuclear fallout more than once, and isn't this west nile virus moving a little too fast, not to mention the inability to find the origin of the anthrax spores and who released them.

Rules for life

by A Man

We always hear "The Rules" from the female side, Now here are the rules from the male side.
Please note: these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!

1. Learn to work the toilet seat, You're big girls. If it's up, put it down, We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Birthdays, Valentines, and Anniversaries are not quests to see if we can find the perfect gift yet again!

1. Sometimes we are not thinking about you. Deal with it.

1. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it in that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

1. We don't remember dates. Mark birthdays and anniversaries on the calendar. Remind us frequently beforehand.

1. Most guys own three pairs of shoes - tops. What makes you think we'd be any good at choosing which pair, out of thirty, would look good with your dress.

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptance answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that last for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

1. Check your own oil! Please.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think that you are fat, you probably are. Don't ask us. We refuse to answer.

1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions, and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

1. We are not mind readers and we never will be. Our lack of mind-reading ability is not proof of how little we care about you.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really.

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as naval lint, the shotgun formation, or monster trucks.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. The relationship is never going to be like it was the first four months we were going out. Get over it. And quit whining to your girlfriends.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. It is neither in your best interest or ours to take the quiz together. No, it doesn't matter which quiz.

1. We are in shape. ROUND is a shape.

1. Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight, but did you know we really don't mind that, it's like camping.

church ladies

by Have a laugh

Thank God for church ladies with typewriters. These sentences appeared in
church bulletins or were announced in church services:

1. Bertha Belch, a missionary from Africa, will be speaking tonight at
Calvary Methodist. Come hear Bertha Belch all the way from Africa.

2. Announcement in a church bulletin for a national PRAYER & FASTING
Conference: "The cost for attending the Fasting and Prayer Conference
includes meals."

3. The sermon this morning: "Jesus Walks on the Water." The sermon tonight:
"Searching for Jesus."

4. Our youth basketball team is back in action Wednesday at 8 PM in the
recreation hall. Come out and watch us kill Christ the King.

5. "Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those
things not worth keeping around the house. Don't forget your husbands."

6. The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due
to a conflict.

7. Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community.

8. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say "hell" to someone who doesn't
care much about you.

9. Don't let worry kill you off - let the Church help.

10. Miss Charlene Mason sang "I will not pass this way again," giving obvious
pleasure to the congregation.

11. For those of you who have children and don't know it, we have a nursery
downstairs.

12. Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the
help they can get.

13. Barbara remains in the hospital and needs blood donors for more

Pastor Jack's sermons.

14. During the absence of our Pastor, we enjoyed the rare privilege of
hearing a good sermon when J.F. Stubbs supplied our pulpit.

15. Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the
church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.

16. At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be "What is Hell?"
Come early and listen to our choir practice.

several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.

gracious hostility.

24. The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They
may be seen in the basement on Friday afternoon.

lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday.

28. Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 PM. Please
use the back door.

29. The eighth-graders will be presenting Shakespeare's Hamlet in the

Need advice for a child

by Friend

How do you give a child self-esteem? When my child was little, I bragged and applauded every little thing. Now I'm thinking I did wrong because the world does not applaud her like she expects them too. Mostly, she does not think she is pretty. Even though I tell her and her daddy tells her and her mamaw tells her every day. Children at school hurt her feelings every day. She listens to them more than anything. She is that age. I never went through what she is going through. I always had confidence. I've gone into great detail with the "it's what's on the inside that counts" but children are not blind. They see the Britney Spearses of the world and how they are put in front of them all the time. I feel so sad for her, but what can I do. I spent all summer trying to convince her that she is as good as anyone and it has only taken a few days for all that to be thrown away. Please help if you can.

Almost a teen, but not quite

by Friend

I have been surfing the web for help on this subject. A child this age killed himself in our area last week and that scares me. My child is every bit as sensitive and serious. It is so frustrating because you can talk into you lose your voice (I have) but at this age they don't hear their parents, they hear their peers and TV and movies. She has always been a good, smart child. I don't want her to throw her life away because she isn't a super model.

Need Some Help!!

by

Hello, I am looking for some help locating pictures for some research I am doing. First I am looking for any pictures of the inside of the RED ROBIN BUILDINGS, Stone, KY. Mostly of the snack bar, and theatre, but any will do. I am also looking for old pictures of the OLD FORD HOUSE, on Lequire curve at Stone, Ky. There is a large Christmas tree there that had been lit for many years, the tradition begins again, and I would like to find someone who may have taken movies, or pictures on the property of the old house. Your help would be very much appreciated. Please email me with any info you may have. God Bless, and Take Care.

Yes, it's me. I can't stay away. Even though I haven't posted in a long time, I still check out the site for news and comments. I got a teaching position, 2nd grade...and I love it. Just thought some of you might be wondering.

I'm glad you got a position. Like CCG, I'm not sure I could handle a room full of 2nd graders. I have confidence in you.

so far, so good

by Shawna

With the first 3 days behind me, I'm relieved. The children are great. I didn't know how I'd like 2nd grade, but I really do. They are sweet. I'm just not going to have any free time ever again.

by Waver

I got a kick out of your article this morning in the News-Express, but did you know all you had to do was put some dish soap near them and they want cross it, if they get into it it kills them dead. Just thought you'd like to know.

Tell Hubby

that is how we learn is by doing. If we didn't try then we wouldn't know if things worked or not. Right?

You sound so much like.....

your Mother. I really miss talking to her. Tell her to get a computer!

Just 'cause men can't admit to their wrong doings doesn't mean that "us" women can't. Dennis tells me that all the time.

Shallow Thoughts

Great........

by Gerri

I loved them. And Hi to you too! Sorry I missed the show last night. I had thought about it, then with all the computer problems (actually phone line problems until tomorrow) I got interested in a movie (that I had already seen and even have it on video)and forgot about it until the last half.
