Hi Frozzer,

the second guess seem to be true. The tunic has a "A" for "Aufklärung" (reconaissance)
on the shoulder strap and a yellow Waffenfarbe.
So it is from an officer of a unit called

Aufklärungs-Abteilung 24 (Wehrmacht)

which served in the 24. Infantrie-Division.
