I stumbled upon this site as I was searching for some way to obtain information on my grandfather's service in the German Army from about 1918 until 1944. All I have heard at this point is that he served on the Eastern Front, was a POW to the Russians for a time before escape, possibly moved to the African front, was a POW to the US forces near the end of the war. His name was Wilhelm Koser and he lived in Kempten Germany. He was a very good and honorable grandfather to me but would never speak about his experiences. Does anyone have an idea where to start locating the records of his service, rank, or movements while a member of the German Army??
