Marco De Barros Injury

August 29 2003, 12:57 PM

Grant,

How ironic that your injury update regarding Marco's wrist should be under the following ads :

Carpal Tunnel, Sore Wrists or Thumb Many Supports and Braces to Heal.
Wrist and Arm Supports, Carpal tunnel, wrist, elbow & arm supports. Free UK delivery.

Can someone please educate me as why a wrist injury stops you fromplaying football ? I thought that you played wih your feet & your head. I also thought that they still used plaster casts for those injuries. For heaven sake, we can't afford Marco to be out for 6 weeks for an injury as trivial as this. If it is a serious injury, then accept my apologies Marco. If not, what message is this giving out to us supporters, who give up their hard earned time & cash to follow the club ? What next, a broken nail crises ?
If Marco doesn't want to play for the club (& it always seems to be WHEN HE'S IN THE MOOD) then give some other loon a chance (not Greenie) Take a leaf out of Eddie Copeland's book, a guy that gave 110% every game & would sweat blood for the cause. Marco, for the benefit of us all, please get yourself in that team & show us that you can still do the business.
Come on Huntly !

Mr Parker:
If you present yesterday, you would've seen that Marco had his arm in plaster and was in sling.
rules would state that a player is unable to play if wearing any type of cast.
we had similar situation at Rothes a few years back with Paul Black when Bonnyman demanded he played with a cast or have it cut off for that game. the referee at the time took one look at him and told him there was no chance of Paul playing.

Marco's Injury

Thanks Grant for updating me with the rules regarding this type of injury. I think frustration gets the better of me when these things happen, especially in Marco's case. He has been & always will be on his day, a joy to watch & a potential match winner for Huntly. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery, hoping he's back sooner rather than later.

quite agree as I've said on the pen pics before.
when on form he's a joy to watch to watch and a pain in the @$$ for any defender!
he's certainly a one-off!!
by the way, he's hoping to be back by October.
