GOALS
Keith:
1) Darren Still took his goal well after latching onto a long clearance
2) There was a bit of a dispute over who had scored it - most of us in the stand (Keith and Huntly) said it was an own goal. Derek Smith was credited with the header after consultation with both squads.
Huntly:
1) great strike from Reg after old boy Morrison made a bad clearance
2) great play from McGowan - shocked to see Guildy hit it so clean with his left peg!
3) another great solo from Guildy who is now 1 goal away from last season's tally of 10.

OPPOSITION:
took the lead with a well taken goal and played well until conceded the Huntly equaliser. Left to rue some good chances from Nicol and Smith in second half.

OFFICIALS: Good game from Alan Freeland - made a sensible decision with the McKenzie/O'Driscoll clash by booking both players. no bad decisions from assistants either

TEAM ANALYSIS
Keeper: some good stops - good block v Nicol in second half. could've done better going for second goal.
Back Four: Both full backs played really well and the central defenders are looking as consistent as ever.
Midfield: Mark Gray got stuck in and McGowan had Morrison under pressure until subbed. Another great game from Guildy!
Attack: another great shift from Reg who took his goal well

Man of the match: hard to call with good performances in each position

Goal of the match: Russell Guild's 2nd

Grant 'Neep' Turner

thought boys played well today
henderson talked team through hard times today but both full backs were fantastic.
midfield. mark gray immense by winning tackles and working so hard for his team mates. dont think guildy would have scored so much this year without gray behind him!
mcgowan had the full back in his back pocket before he was taken off and matty put in his normal hard working energeting shift
reggie took his goal well and was a menace all day and jerry worked hard and cant remember him giving the ball away at all.

am feeling very positive about huntlys chances this season as they seem to have a good mix

THE KEITH GAME

September 14 2003, 1:52 PM

He can be frusrating, infuriating & exciting, but well done to our top scorer Russell Guild. Who would’ve bet on that one at the start of the season ? Can someone tell me why with his talent, he isn’t taking a fair share of our free-kicks ala Beckam ? Well done to the whole team. It was very encouraging to see the hard work & confidence, especially shooting from in & around the penalty box. We showed a fighting spirit to come from behind & overcome an always difficult to beat Keith side AND once again, the referee. I can't agree totally with Grant with regards to Alan Freeland. After a very good first half, where I & a good few others must’ve thought there were two referees called Alan Freeland, he had his usual disasterous second half, with decisions that not only baffled the Huntly supporters, but also one of his own linesmen ! In the last quarter of an hour of the game, the biased decisions he made gave Keith so many chances to get an equaliser it was untrue. We don’t have the luxury of televised replays, but some baffling decisions, one where I thought we incurred a booking for no apparent reason, have to be questioned. This standard of refereeing is ruining the enjoyment of the game for both players & supporters. Talking of supporters, I know we are struggling in that department, but did anyone see any Keith fans ? For a local derby it was sad to see so many empty spaces at the ground.
My condolences go to Wick, who got a hiding from the Locos that we could so nearly have got last week. A funny old game eh ? Come on Huntly !
