Brora Rangers v Huntly
The game itself was hardly a classic or entertaining one - for me it was more two points dropped than a point gained.
GOALS
Brora Rangers:
1) good finish from John Colquhoun after Peter Lynch got clear on the right.
2)for the second week in a row, Mike Ritchie called a penalty decision right. Fortunatly Barry Thompson was only booked for the foul as Lynch converted well.
3)Thought Barry was at fault a bit here. he failed to connect coming out for a corner and as the ball was played in Muir Morton finished well.
Huntly:
1) Jerry O'Driscoll as we've seen many a time this season with a bullet header. Gary McGowan with the assist from a corner
2) another header from Jerry after Andy Matheson flicked the ball on. McGowan again the provider.
3) great play from Richard Craig after William Ridgers got caught out from a high ball into the area. great strike from Jerry which came off a defenders arm and into the goal.
Apparently the ref said after the game if the ball hadn't went in he would've had to have given a penalty.
OPPOSITION:
Ridgers had some good stops in goal while Lynch looked dangerous down the right. Colquhoun, who was drafted in late after injury to Kevin Keith in the warm-up threatened also down the left wing. Their home form has started to pick up again with 4 points in the last two games so it shouldn't be easy for most teams at Dudgeon Park.
OFFICIALS:
Ritchie called the penalty decision right and thankfully only booked Barry Thompson for the foul.
I felt that Kevin Fraser's challenge on Alan Stephen was a bad one and the player may have been fortunate only to receive a yellow.
TEAM ANALYSIS
Not good to go down 1-0 so early on but we came right back at them to level a couple of minutes later.
Gary McGowan did well with assists on the first two goals which Jerry headed in.
Disappointing to concede a penalty so close to the break but to be fair, Barry did take Luke Cassidy down.
came out in the second half looking to add to our tally until Thompson's misjudgment at the corner led to Brora going 3-2 up.
Deservedly go the equaliser six minutes later after some neat work by Reg set Jerry up for his hat-trick.
came close in latter stages with Graham Green chipping narrowly past and Jerry's header being saved by Ridgers.
quieter game from the usual stand-outs like Alan Stephen and Russell Guild.
A tough few fixtures ahead of us now starting with Deveronvale on Wednesday night in the Shield.
