In case anyone missed it Me & Grant played for a Locos X1 versus Fans Tourney winners Nairn on Saturday. Hope he doesn't mind but here is David Rosie (Nairn Captain)'s full report for the Nairn programme on saturday - it is the only near-accurate report on the match to be published . . . .

It was a slightly hung over collection of Nairn fans who assembled at the train station (next to IV12 5LT) to catch the 8.59 to Inverurie for the first ever Highland League inter fans challenge match and to show their "allegatience" to the Wee County. The opposition were to be a side made up or Inverurie supporters with a little help from Huntly, Forres, Cove Rangers and Peterhead. Some regulars from highlandleague.net were to appear for the Inverurie side, including Peterhead Fan, a.h, Faziboy and M Hill. The County fans managed to get all the way to Huntly before Lee "Early" Walker lost his breakfast much to the amusement of the other lads.
At Inverurie station Steven Rattray from highlandleague.net, Graeme Mair and Locos official John Innes were helpful enough to pick up the Nairn lads to run them to Strathburn Park in time for kick off.
The early stages of the match were end to end with neither team able to break the deadlock, but with 25 minutes on the clock a long range effort from Derek "The Wall" Maclean flew past Martin Hill in the Loco's goal to open the scoring. The home side weren't going to lie down however, and 2 minutes later Huntly supporter Grant Turner, who may have been just offside, ran through on goal and finished well to pull the Inverurie team back level.
Maclean added a second goal for the Nairn side and just before half time, Forres loon Colin Machray deflected a Jason "Moley" Robertson shot past his own keeper to make it 3-1 to Nairn.
Two further goals from Derek Maclean early in the second period looked to have finished the game off and with the Nairn defence superbly marshalled by David "Daley" Rosie and the ever reliable Graham "Bernie" Clifton between the sticks a victory for Nairn looked like the only outcome. The Nairn team were playing some great passing football by this stage and with the Inverurie lads tiring slightly towards the end of the second half, further goals from Martin "Smitho" Smith, Steven "Coolio" Willox and 2 more for Maclean to complete his double hat trick made the final score 9-1 to the Nairn side. Highlight of the day had to be the unique pirouetting throw in style of Huntly fan Andrew "a.h" Hassan which had most of the other players unable to do anything for laughing.
Locos Team: Martin Hill, Colin Machray, John Innes, Edward Rattray, Faziboy, Graeme Mair, Ian Robertson, Doug T, David Gray, Grant Turner, W Man. Subs: Andrew Hassan and Strathburn's Paper Boy

Nairn team: Graham "Bernie" Clifton, David "Daley" Rosie, Keith "Bruno" Brown, Lee "Early" Walker, Martin "Smitho" Smith, Steven "Coolio" Willox, Jason "Moley" Robertson, Jamie "Jaki Degg" Begg, Derek "The Wall" Maclean and Daryl "Nil Nil" Breathet.
