transfer news

January 7 2004, 12:32 PM

For the second week in a row (and like last season) I've had to find out Huntly's transfer news from other sources.
With the Ross Campbell story, I'd spoke to him prior to him coming back so I had some work to go with in preporation for his return.
On the David Henderson situation: I was informed by the player himself - nobody within the club had informed me on David's situation.

It certainly was a shock last night to turn on teletext (which is usually out of date with HFL stories) and find out that Gordon Farmer was tranfer listed.

Forgot to add in (hence the edited post) "Tapping" is illegal and the club involved could face serious action from the SFA no doubt
As always, the forum is here for you - the fans to submit your response on all the latest news etc.

SHOCKING!!!!!!

January 7 2004, 12:50 PM

I'am shocked to here that Gordon has been transfer listed, what is going on at Huntly Football Club? Gordon is one of Huntly's most consistant players and is a great asset to any club and will be sadly missed, with him going, Hendo on the move, Key players falling out of favour, what is going to happen to this team? We all know that there is no money too bring in new players. So were are the new players going to come from at this time in the season? With Gordon leaving, who will be playing out wide left for the remainder of the season?

Why does this sitution always seem to come up at least once a season?!!!

sources of club news

January 7 2004, 3:20 PM

No disrespect to this site, but why do we have to see most of the latest stories connected with Huntly FC on teletext???

Most people who view that will know it's usually a day or two out of date compared with sites like this and highlandleague.net, so why are we having to read such stories like Farmer being transfer listed and several key players signing new deals from other sources???

Its a total disgrace that these storys are not put through the website and other agencies at the same time.Any chance of an OFFICAL statement from the powers that be or will i check the telly first.

Farmer / Lack of Site news

January 7 2004, 7:49 PM

Right, Ive had just about enough of all of this.
Yet again the club let down the supporters by deciding Grant Turner, this site & probably the fans don't exist.

WE WANT ANSWERS

Exactly what is going on that we are letting our best players leave for no apparent reason (I dont belive Hendo's place wasn'y really under threat that much & theres no excuse for letting farmer walk out). Yes we've a big squad, but this season (so far) had been the best season for club/supporters relations up til now and over christmas it's become Unhappy New Year. In any case, its a joke to think Teletext are given information before what is supposed to be the Official Club Website.
While I assume there's probably still bad blood after the Klashmach (Bloke Ive still never met) post in the summer, but things were getting better I thought & I cant belive its spiralling down yet again.

As for Farmer. Well Fraser Newlands, I know he's not one of Billy's favourites and he at times didnt seem to play that well in Billy's eyes, but in mine (& certianly most Ive spoken too) he's had a great season and been close to being (like Hendo) an ever-present.
Nice guys treated badly does not go down well in my book, answers awaited but probably not forthcoming!

Don't know if Wayne would be coming back as he'd been recently training with Elgin City and came on as a sub for them a few weeks back during a friendly against Lossiemouth

Gordon and Hendo

January 8 2004, 11:02 AM

I can't beleive it! Argueably two of the best players in the team going. After Hendo staying on after the last time leaving was mentioned, i really thought he had settled down. This season Dave has been in my opinion the most consistent defender in the team. On the same note Farmer has ben one of the best in midfield when he has got a game. Who else is going to play left?

Plus, why on earth did teletext (something which is usually totally inacurate) get the news on Gordon before this "official club website", surely someone could've informed Grant. We need to have some better communication between the club and the fans, without the fans there wouldn't be a club!

I hope there are players coming in to make up for the players lost.

teletext

January 8 2004, 3:14 PM

When i clicked on the teletext link for the Farmer story, the page must be updated daily as it directed me to the following articles:

Champions Deveronvale have indicated their interest in Gordon Farmer, the midfielder put up for sale by Huntly after refusing a new contract.

The Christie Park club would prefer a player exchange and would like Vale sweeper Bryan Duglonski, but the Banff club say he is not available.

Vale are now contemplating a cash offer for 22-year-old Farmer who is under contract until May.

and this also:
Cove Rangers have made a bid to sign Dave Henderson, the centre half released by Huntly, but the player is not keen to go to Allan Park.

wayne coming back? backward step in my humble opinion. Please for the sake of harmony will someone from the club make a statement as to whats going on,we pay our money ,so we are entilted to our say. There must be a link between the club and the fans,if not we start to go down a very dangerous road.

Re: Farmer Leaving !

January 9 2004, 7:28 AM

My my, what an excitable lot we are. Farmer wants to leave -so what, let him go. If he doesnt want to play for Huntly or has a better offer, fine, bye bye. I admit we would need a replacement on the left side.
Hendo? well for me he's not commanding enough in the middle of defence and is too slow. He's definately been better this season but still costs us goals - think Berwick and set pieces. Campbell (or Kippy) maybe better option.
Ok, lets hear you then!

aye we can be a passionate lot when we want to be ! nobody wants Farmer to go but he obviously isn't a happy bunny at the moment and we have to ask why ?
lets hope Hendo departure does see Kippy, Ant getting a regular game.

quite agree but unfortunately nae much chance o kippy getting back in the team in a hurry, seeing as he's oot for the next 4 weeks leaving us anither man short!

still nae convinced we're ony better this year than we were last year and the gripes about what's happening at HFC seem to be building up once more!

neep have you been able to find out that stats 4 me yet?
