East Fife are almost back to full strength ahead of the trip to Highland League leaders Huntly on Saturday.
Manager Jim Moffat is likely to keep the same side which defeated Queens Park at Hampden last week.
Sean Paliczka has shaken off a knock and is likely to start. Johnny Mitchell and Stevie Nicholas will continue upfront.
Derek Colquhon could still be dropped with rumours of a fall out between him and Moffat have been reported.
Paul Gaughan and James Herkes could both come back into the squad but Ian McDonald is definately out along with long term casualties Craig Johnstone, Michael Hall and John Dodds.
A group of East Fife fans had the narrowest of escapes at Huntly last night and almost had to spend the night sleeping at the railway station.
This was mainly due to the complete inability of most of them (I exclude myself as the sun was in my eyes)to tell the difference between the platform for trains going TO Aberdeen with and the one coming FROM Aberdeen.
The situation was made worse by the fact that when a train drew in, a genial and only mildly abusive chorus of "Cheerio" was delivered to the Huntly fans on the opposite platform, only to be replaced with a group exclamation of "Oh ****" when we belatedly realised it was our train too! A mad sprint back over the bridge ensued, during which a Fife fan fell and was almost trampled to death by his good-natured fellow fans who clearly had never heard of the Good Samaritan.
Congratulaions to the Huntly fans for not letting on and almost marooning us in the deepest heilans. It would have been a perfect cup story."
I have to say well done to the Huntly fans who were standing on the correct platform! We deserved a huge slagging but they managed to retain their dignity and not stoop to our level! (when I say our, I mean the lot I was standing with and not actually me!)
A.H. - I was not in the social club as I followed the rest to the Huntly Hotel. We were fed and watered prior to the game so we thought we would head there after to put more money behind the bar as a thanks for their hospitality.
Is it poss for you to email me and let me know how many Huntly fans you think might make the journey to Methil and a rough time of arrival? See you in our social club before the game.
LadyFan, there's a 52 seater bus leaving from the football club about 09:30-09:45, which is certain to be full. There could possibly be other mini-buses from some of the pubs, although I haven't heard yet. There's always quite a few insist on travelling by car, and there's usually quite a few Huntly exiles now living in the Central belt turn up for our Scottish cup away days. So all in I would estimate 200 - 300. Is your Social club in the ground?
LadyFan,
Thanks it was me who asked about the Social club, not AH (our self elected spokesman ;-). Also very hanDy to know they serve food as it'll save us hunting around. Our 52 seater should be with you about 13:00,thanks again.
Hi Guys.
I am the owner of an East Fife supporters pub called the Wellesley Inn. It is 1 mile from the ground. When The Fife are at home i provide free food (stovies or soup) to home and away fans and happy Hour drink prices up to kick off time. If you want to come to the pub before the game, give me a call so i can estimate food required.
