Interesting line there

August 12 2005, 3:34 PM

"sad"

I was thinking more along the lines "not surprised". It was inevitable some of our fans faves were going to want to go given the size of squad alone. We've so much quality now I wouldnt be surprised if theres more.

I believe Wayne Murdo's already gone, but nothings been said.

Haddock,

I think it's best I dont comment on this one, (are you one of the supporters I spoke to on saturday?).
If you were there you will know whats coming next, and when I have something to say, I'll say it

I've been a believer in if you cannae say it to somebody's face then dinnae hid behind a keyboard. I'm hoping that A.H stuck to his guns and put his point to Billy and dinnae back doon! People have to remember that fitba is aboot people havin different points of view and seeing things from different angles.

I don't know, he came on as a sub away to Turriff and was replaced and I think that's the only time he's featured.

Farmer & Stainer

August 18 2005, 4:15 PM

Good luck to Gordon Farmer & Richard Stainer in their quest for 1st team football. I cannot understand why their talents have not been sufficiently recognised & utilised by the club. I think they will both be an asset in whichever team they play for. A sad loss for Huntly in my opinion.

Gordon Farmer gave his all in every match & was versatile at either winger or fullback. Richard Stainer must be up there in the goals per time on the pitch (statisticians help me out if you can on this please) Unpredictable he may have been but not in my opinion. A buzz seemed to go around the ground every time he had the ball at his feet. He also must be one of the few, if any, Highland league player to have had a banner made for him, which has been photographed for posterity (see one of a.h’s replies to this topic which has a link to this) I wonder if the banner will be going on eBay ?.......

Let us here the views from a few more people on this forum, especially on this topic. I am sure more than half a dozen fans must read it !

COME ON HUNTLY FOR TWO IN A ROW !!

I feel gordon was not the player he was when he returned to the club, fair play to the guy he has moved to play 1st team football and i take it he wants to win things as he knocked back rothes to sign for culter. As for stainer i would have liked to have seen him go out on loan, sometimes it looked as of he was short of confidence.I would have liked to have seen him stay but he was forth or fifth choice, good luck to both lads.

You'd have to feel sorry for Gordon in a way for being sold, brought back and then sold again.

There's no doubting he's always been a talented player on the left side for the club but sadly that talent may go to waste in the juniors.
I believe Rothes were sniffing about but the asking fee was too high.

As far Stainer, he's always been a fan favourite and like Farmer is too good to be playing junior football.
His pace always proved problems for defences when he'd come on and it's a shame that he never got the chance to start more.
Come to think of it, we don't have any pace in attack nowadays as jerry, taylor, shallicker and the new lad don't look the quickest of forwards.
I think the only quick forward we have left is one who doesn't have the best of strike rates.

Anyway, good luck to Farmer and Stainer in their new clubs as both played their part in last seasons title win and this is greatly appreciated by all the supporters

Stainer

August 20 2005, 7:59 PM

Huntly Die Hard - Stainer's back. He was in the personnel today albeit not on the bench and depending on how training goes this week may well be on the bench next saturday, and better still play in the reserves in two nights time!

Mr Parker: according the page views for the forum the current total is just over 4,000 for August so surely more people can post their views.

The site is for the fans and we want to hear your views, after all, these are the same people who pay their money each and every week and I'm sure they've got opinions they'd like to share. Let's keep the discussions going and make more use of the forum.
