"Football clubs can have an amazing effect on the morale of a town or city"
TOO TRUE! (see recent posts on this board!)
but surely speaking to the people of the town should come first, before bringing in outsiders?? |

Sounds a good idea.If he wants to deposit some of his cash at the club all the better.Strange the movers at the club dont want to take the time to talk to people a little closer to home. |

We are-the purpose of the lunch was to invite people to meet Sir Tom, which they wanted to do, and then follow them up to get them interested in the club. The fact that one has already given us a substantial cheque, that we are at present talking to two others about an immediate sponsorship, and that some of the rest have told me that they are interested, proves that this was a sound tactic. We plan to follow it up with others, possibly the next being in November. |
