Even if Hibs sent their first team I doubt if we could fill the stand. Why would Hibs leave 5 first team players behind if they have an important European game to play?
Call me cynical if you like but I'll be amazed if anyones heard of the "first team" players who turn up.
You asked for it, Edwin Starr when you said call me cynical-that is just what I am going to call you, and you should be ashamed of your self.
We asked Hibs to sent us their first team with no expenses. They agreed, but pointed out that the date we chose was one when they might be involved in Europe and did we want another date, mid week perhaps, we told them no, we wanted to stick to our date. They sent their major shareholder Sir Tom Farmer up to see us and he agreed to host a luncheon at which we made new contacts and raised funds for the club, and in particular, for youth development. When we wanted to purchase some land for pitches for the young teams, Sir Tom immediately guaranteed the sum required. Meanwhile Hibs agreed to help us with our youth development programme, and one coach has already booked a couple of days with them. The Hibs involvement has also brought ASDA sponsorship to the club.
Think of this, and think of what you said, and yes, you are a cynic. Be aware I have no room for your attitude on my boat. I only need positive people, with positive attitudes, and a determination to make Huntly FC the best that there is. I have no room for cynics. so either stand on the pier and wave me and those who wish to be on my boat goodbye, or get on board. There is not middle ground. Time for your support, fans. Come out and shout for me.
I would expect Malkowski to be in goals on saturday at our game, maybe Konde and Shields being the other two, and of course the two trialists making up the 5?
It was confirmed in a couple of papers this morning that Abdesselam Benjolloun - a first team regular last season - is playing the Huntly game because he cant get a visa to go to Odense.
my prediction for the Hibs side for tomorrow's game is:
Zbigniew Malkowski
Lewis Stevenson
Jonathan Bailie
Merouane Zemama
Guillaume Beuzelin
Steven Notman
Sean Lynch
Jay Shields
Ross Campbell
Abdessalam Benjelloun
Darren Smith
