Last night we talked a lot about the fans and how we can progress the
relationship. We decided to hold the next Fans Forum on Thursday 19th
October at 7:30 so put that date in your diary. It is also very exciting to
see the progress towards the setting up of an official supporters club, this
would help us enormously in our drive to set the hightest standards of
professionalism at the club. I do hope this will happen soon, as I have some
specific areas where the fans can help. We also talked about financial
reporting to make it easier to understand. The Youth Academy took up some
time, we discussed how it could be financed, how the youth teams can be
supported and promoted, how we can set up a regular visit to schools in the
area, and how we can use it to build up our future fans.
We talked about our ten standards to which we aspire, and how they linked in
with the current form we have to complete for the Highland League regarding
how the club is run. Whilst many of their requirements are in place, we have
quite a journey to travel to get where we want to be, which is a leadership
club with leadership teams and leadership standards.
As part of this we reviewed our stewarding policies at matches. The Highland
League stresses that all involved in stewarding must have suitable
training, and it is clear from a recent incident that we have to make some
changes. On the same subject, we are very short of "handy hands" at the club
who will help out on match days, moving strips, and so on, and it was agreed
to ask the fans if any would volunteer to become members of the team that
help behind the scenes.
We also discussed the future of the Sports and Socal Club. It is clear that
it is under utilised and that changes must be made.
A fascinating final statement. I trust that the changes which you plan to propose to the Social Club Committee will include helping to promote increased use of the fascilities by encouraging all connected with Huntly FC (Board, Commitee, and fans) to contribute to this by showing preference to "our club" rather than other licenced premises within the town. I'm sure all HFC Social Club members realise that the club makes sigificant financial donations to HFC each year, and the continuance and revitalisation of our excellent Social club is in everyone's best interests.
COULDN'T HAVE PUT IT BETTER MYSELF. WELL DONE ALAN R FOR SAYING WHAT OTHERS MEERLY THINK! NOT SURE I WOULD RESTRICT THE PREFERENCE OF PLACES TO DRINK IN BY THE BOARD AND PLAYERS AS JUST IN HUNTLY FOR IT SEEMS THAT THE NEW HFC SOCIAL CLUB SEEMS TO HAVE SHIFTED TO KEITH, SORRY JUST MINE AND A FEW OTHERS OPINION, LET THEM COME HERE AND TELL IT LIKE IT IS!
Stop clogging the message board with personal conversations, approach a member of the board on saturday and ask them but I will also email Robin and try and find out.
