In the last of the section matches, Huntly U13s were beaten today 10-2 by
Dyce BC in Abdn. The Dyce boys unbeaten this season did not have it all there
own way as score suggests and credit to Huntly's young team who never gave
up & contributed 100% from all players. Dyce were 4-1 up at break, Huntlys
goal from a lob from Ewan Gordon the lone striker as the team played 5 in
midfield to combat the Dyce threat. Goalkeeper Calum Whyte had a cracking
game despite staving his thumb & time after time pulled off some brill
saves. Probably 6 of the Dyce goals were preventible & it was no drubbing as
10-2 suggests. Huntlys 2nd goal was from a fine solo effort from Ryan
Thommo, the only goals dyce have conceded for ages. The 13s coaches were
upbeat after the game and were pleased with effort shown by a smaller &
younger team than Dyce. The 13s won 2 out of 3 section games & qualify for
1st b league. ONWARD
