This was posted on the lossie website today with regards their social club, hope our meeting went well and it's not as bleak as appears the case up there:
"been hearing some sad news today in regards to the clubbiy
it sems that even after all that was said at the AGM people still havent been spending their money in the clubby and last month the club still lost money even though all members of staff took a cut in hours worked and the club closed earlier on certain nights and also the introduction of the rounding up of all drinks
im led to believe that there has been a special committee meeting called for tonight for the committee members to tell them that the social club has 2 weeks left in survival
the last beerand spirits order has been placed and the intention is to run the stock down till its gone
i think this is going to be a sad loss to the football club but if people are not using the facility it cannot continue to haemorrage money at the rate it is.
so many people stood up at the AGM and made themselves heard loud and clear yet they havent been seen in the club since
i also apportion part blame on the committee
what have they done to try and save the club
people talked about getting more social events like a horse racing night etc but nobody seems to have acted on it
too many people on the committee have no idea what it takes to run a club and therefore have no idea where to start in saving it they have just let it slide down the pan
i hope im proved wrong and something can be pulled out of the hat at the last minute but realistically i fear its a case of
