David Morrison warned of a cash flow challenge later in the season, caused by higher wages and the absence of the usual contribution from the Social Club. The Board decided to meet this by revitalising the Big League and having a membership drive between November 15th and December 15-one aspect will be that anyone who signs up ten new members in this period will get a cash reward of £150:00. More details later. We discussed the Boxing Night on December 15th, and the importance of this being supported. We also discussed preliminary arrangements for the Celebration Dinner in May to mark 100 years of successful football in Huntly.
Great satisfaction was expressed at the progress of the supporters club, which now has around 60 members. Menas of getting bus sponsorship were discussed, David Gray has agreed to sponsor the bus to Brora. We also agreed to restart producing a match programme, but it would be a good quality publication financed by sponsorship and selling advertisements. Time would be necessary to get all the arrangements in place and it was agreed to introduce it at the start of the next season, though work would start immediately to get the finance in place.
We also discussed our sponsorship programme and agreed that there was much potential in selling advertising boards, the ground could take up to 30 more. Discussions to be held on how to do this.
Our relationship with the Huntly community was discussed. An invitation to attend a game should be extended to Town Co-ordinator Donald Boyd, and a presentation of a picture of Provost Chrisie by Gordon Christie was being arranged to mark the 80th anniversary of the donation of the ground to the club. We also agreed to study the pro's and con's of owning our own bus.
On Health and Safety, a potential problem with roofing was outlied.
Date of next meeting was set for 27th November. |
