I would have to agree with that, i overhead that in the stand a few weeks back but not mentioning any names revealing the big mouth.
Surely this cant be true, the club is run by professional businessmen is it not!!!!

Surely this needs to be resolved sooner rather than later.

seems to be ripe that rumour, expenses is a big issue, heard certain players were due large amounts of money, u would like to think the club would treat there players well! quite embarrassing for a club of huntlys stature!

Maybe if they cut doon on "the management/coaching/physio team" they would have some money left!!!

They'll need to borrow Keith's dugout shortly!!!!!!

This seems worrying, but at the same time unsurprising given the complete waste of £6,000 in signing on fees to two players in the summer - but that was a previous manager now and doesnt deserve your time reading more on it.

Surely the drive f the big league may help this, well here's hoping.

Who has been supplying A.H with these figures regarding signing-on fees? Surely confidentiality issues need to be addressed before someone like A.H is finding out how much certain players are getting paid!!

Got to agree with huntly diehard.. Where does AH get his info?

As for blaming previous managers, the board that is in place now, makes the deals as far as i'm aware.

Don't think it's right the players deals are for public consumption!!

How much do you get for serving/making/brewing tea AH?

Does Jeffrey have an inside source before he has been told about payment issues at the club? Surely if this is true then people connected with the club should not be broadcasting things like this to fans. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this

Getting back to the main point

December 8 2006, 1:12 PM

I have worked hard to open up a better flow of information to all supporters and by now it can be no secret that to get back to having a winning team on the park, we took the decision to take on people, and significantly increased our wages bill. Sadly, at exactly this time we were notified that the Sports Club was in some difficulty and that their normal donation to the club of around £10,000 a season could not be made.

So the board is now having to meet the cash flow challege, which is why I am asking all of you to play your part by joining The Big League.

There is a Board meeting early next week at which some challenges will be discussed and we will be plotting the way forward. I have introduced putting on this web site a short report immediately after the board meeting and will do so again next week.

JOIN THE BIG LEAGUE NOW.

Re: Getting back to the main point

i am sorry to point out the obvious but giving the fact that two of the past board members were extremely dedicated to the big league and went out collecting money in all weathers gave loads of notice that they were resigning, the big league should never have lost as many members as it has.
charles pirie kept it going longer than he had intended because he didn't want to see it go down hill, and much thanks should go to him, but when it comes down to it the people they went collecting from were all known by name, now all the football club want is a bank number, and before someone from huntly fc come on saying "well are you voulenteering?" the answer is simply NO! this is just my opinion, which i do believe everyone is entitled to.
also it might be a good idea to put a list of the winners on the website sice it is advertised enough on it.

Yep, this has much to do with it; volunteers over the years have been taken for granted and even when they announced their decission to leave, their presentations were mucked up (didn't happen - too busy with sponsors). Oh yes sponsors are very important, but it's now coming home to roost just how important the volunteers were in the past. Now we have an appeal for more volunteers -- yes please we need them, but perhaps the boardroom could be more visible in it's leadership?

Thankfully we seem to be getting things right on the park, and in the dressing room, just one area left to sort out!

Back to your post Robin!!

You made a comment regarding getting back to winning ways, correct me if im wrong but surely Huntly were at the winning ways under the leadership of Anderson & Co and they won the league, and since his departure half the squad has asked for transfers or just nae bothered coming back.

If the current Huntly squad win any sort of trophy this season, it will be a bloody miracle, every game since the change of management has been the worst games ive ever seen Huntly play and to be honest its embarassing to call myself a Huntly fan. They have turned into a second rate team fae the juniors ( well half the boys are fae formartine)and you winna win nothing with average players.
All tat happens is the ball gets hoofed up the park, i bet Mr Bremner has had a few assists lately, clearly shows Cormie & Co's lack of footballing knowledge!!!

So locos huntly was a poor game? If you were a neutral it was a great game.It does not matter what way you play as long as you get 3 points.Id rather win the league watching duff games than nothing playing well.As for the last board most are still at the club.Players didnt leave because ka went they left because billy left.Look at them matty and reg are doing really well not.

One of the board members left because he wanted billy to stay. k a is kenny anderson. When billy was boss he had his favourites who trained when THEY wanted to.Dave has done a great job and he must be backed. At the start of the season the last thing on our minds would be second place. If your are not happy go to the fans forum and speak your mind.

W. Beets: think you'll find the majority say that that atmosphere around Christie Park these days is the best its been in a long time.

They are far from a second rate team.

You sound a bit bitter, if you've got a problem don't hide behind a screen tell someone at the club.

has Willie Beets even been to a recent huntly game? i have and they are playing alot better under the new management regime than the old one. there seems to be alot more passion in their play and the determination to win. Is he maybe billy anderson in disguise or just someone who has nothing better to do with their time but critise.

William McBeath - I have no idea whats in your head right now (and folk think Im bad!).

I would agree "Anderson & co" (as you call them) were a reason we won the league, but what is unquestionable is that they were also THE reason we didnt retain it last season, and our cup form defied belief at times.
It was negative (Billy's favourite word), it was dull, and it was a complete waste of money.
Last season (and the start of this) was all about who you were and who you knew - not about ability, teamwork, and commitment, which if Dave Cormie doesnt mind me saying is back at Christie Park in abundance since his arrival.

If it hadnt been for Anderson wed have finished second in the League by ONE POINT. We in the shed were all agreed on this at the end of September 2005, and I would think we all still agree that now. That is when we should have brought Dave in.

"Anderson & co" got a year more than was deserved IN MY OPINION, and if the necessities had been done wed have been spared A LOT Of wasted investment (and Im not going to name names as you know who they are).

Dave has come in, changed things FOR THE BETTER, and that is all I for one care about.

Onwards and upwards! Interesting that Andersons not been seen since tho!

I can't recall the previous management winning trophies in their first season.
Hopefully we can keep this good run going and make a late push for the title and prove some of the doubters wrong.... but maybe dropping too much points and the negative tactics in the first month of the season may have cost us a few points!

All tat happens is the ball gets hoofed up the park, i bet Mr Bremner has had a few assists lately, clearly shows Cormie & Co's lack of footballing knowledge!!!

We're not a long ball team and anyone who has been turning up regular to watch us this season with also back me up on this.

We've been playing more attacking formations which doesn't include playing 4-5-1 to accomodate favourites in midfield and a loan striker who was being missed out due to defenders hoofing the ball upfield.
