"getting rid of mare quality players"???????????????
Si was a big loss, but if he doesn't want to play, then what can you do?
But the rest of the players that have gone - Dougal and Ritchie Taylor dropped down to junior football, Reg and Mattie Gairns rooted to the bench at Keith and Locos. Not exactly flourishing are they?
Dlugonski was probably gonna be third choice centre half after Ross and Redford anyway.
If they recouped a decent amount of the money spent on Dougal, then i reckon it's a good move.
Its very simple.
Turriff must have made an enquiry about his availabilty. The manager presumably agrees to let him go and, depending on his contract, the club gets a fee.
Can only assume that the manager feels he has sufficient cover.
Dougal and ross could not play beside each other. We played a lot better at rothes will alan at the back.Remember we also have lee as back up and im glad he is staying.
I didn't know anything of the news until I looked at the P&J but I do have to agree with Bankie Jimbo here.
No disrespect to Dougal, we all knew he had won 2 titles with Deveronvale before he came here and was part of a defence last term which kept 11 clean sheets, but there had been times this season Dougal looked unfit/overweight and unable to cope with forwards who had a bit of pace - this was shown away to Buckie and Brora ( we played a lot better once we changed to a more settled defence that day).
True, he did sign in pre-season (under Billy Anderson) but there's been a lot of changes since then both in the management and playing side.
The defensive display against Rothes is one of the best we've had all season and I hope we can keep the momentum going and take three points off Keith on Saturday.

Never Liked Him Since He Signed. Couldn't Play In The Huntly Defence. Looked Un-fit For The Whole Of The Season, And Struggled Against Faster Opponents.
Couldn't Play In The Centre With Campbell, And Redford In My Opinion Is A Better Central Defender Compared To Dlugonski Anyway..
wot a blow loosing such a great defender.won 2 champions medals and the 2 times he won them the vale had the best defensive record in the league.there is something up here.are we strugling for funds that we needed to sell him.Fair play from turrif.capturing such a great defender like him.also got a few caps for the semi pro scotland team.theres something not right.good luck though Brian.
I know the so called fans (ah in particular) slag the players but i find it disgusting that you do also and then you suck up to the players on a saturday.
Bang out or order what you've said about Dlugonski - i mean you've never came on here and said that whilst he was AT the club did you?!
jist on to wish brian all the best at his new club, such a talent to be leaving highland league football, and im sure people with sense on this website know that, watched him many of times at deveronvale and beleived he would move on to sfl, gd luck and hope to see you back in highland league football sooner than later, thanks
Dissapointed to hear Dougs has left HFL football as he could easily have made the step up to SFL football when he was at the Vale. Oh well least he wont get all you know alls on her slagging him off anymore!!!!
