Sad to say, but maybe it's time to seriously consider enforced log-in with real names before posting. It might of course almost kill the forum but rubbish like this must also put a lot of people off contributing. Another alternative is to appeal to all fans to use their real names, with all other posts then being left with no credence. How about you starting Local Loon, I think you "exposed yourself" to me so to speak last week, so let's all stop hiding behind false names.

There are of course times when people want to make valid controvertial statements but are afraid of the backlash if they identify themselves. the ideal solution would be enforced log-in but with an option to choose "anonymous post". That way the poster would know that the administrator could identify them, but they were not going to be subjected to personal abuse for airing their views.

Listen, i enjoy coming on line and participating. To be honest, i don't really want to 'expose' myself to you or anyone.

I like going to watch games and participating on the website, i don't particularly want some of the more fanatical and vocal fans on here knowing who i am!!

If this is causing a problem I'm quite happy to make this my last contribution.

OK Local Loon,I might be wrong about last week, although I seriously doubt it; but there is obviously a problem here with the quality of posts being made (which you described very well), so let's get it sorted for the good of the club.

Alan: Due to work, I wasn't able to get on and moderate message until after 4pm.
I think Kathleen was having to go through a fair bit during her dinner hour to help me out with some of the vile and abusive posts which have been directed to forum user.

I've adjusted the posting controls slightly given the constant rubbish from some people over the last week or two.
I am able to set the page for logins only like you suggested and it can work like that.

On the other hand I'm prepared to go down the current style of posting (without logins) but ALL posts not have to be moderated by myself before they go public.

It's a shame it's had to come to this this but it's down to some idiots are are making it their daily task to cause a nuisance of themselves
