Posting Information - Please read!

After an influx of abusive messages in recent week directed towards forum users and people at the club, I've had to adjust the way that post goes onto this site.

I was asked about changing forum style so user would have to register and login everytime they post something on the board but I decided against this as I couldn't see everyone wanting to register to post and read messages on the forum.

Now, I'm prepared to use the current format where users don't have to register to use the but can still post their views.

The only catch with this is all most are now moderated before they go live and other people can read them.

Once you post now, your message won't be shown on the forum until it has been approved.

It's a shame it's had to come to this this but it's down to some idiots are are making it their daily task to cause a nuisance of themselves

Grant,

I'm not sure if this solution is going to work. There could be a number of posts waiting to be moderated at any one time, so you have no idea what the current state of a thread is when you submit. This means that someone might submit a post which ends up looking ridiculous once it appears, because the point has been adequately covered by someone else, or perhaps more information has come to light, which would have changed the viewpoint?

Unfortunately due to a minority who made it their hobby in recent weeks to leave abuse towards forum users, and people connected with the club, it was felt that monitoring posts before they appear live on the page was the best option.

highlandleague.net do the same method - I'm having to look over posts for them at times before it can be approved.

If we enforced a login then I reckon fewer people would voice their opinion.

I appreciated your comments about posts being out of sync but all posts go on by date and time order once approved. I appreciated also that sometimes there may be delay on posts appearing on the site but this is due to my work commitments.

There have been one or two that haven't made it onto the forum due to their content and there have been very few anonymous posts since the posting method was changed.

Hopefully we can review this in the near future.

Had a complaint about some of the stuff with the youth side of things to so this hopefully keeps that from getting out of hand also.

you'll have noticed that I havent commented on that since this alleged "complaint".

While on that, if the "person" who complained to Grant wants to get their complaint off their chest I am at all games and am always happy to talk about any footballing matter that I talk about on here.
