SCORERS( CALUM MACKINTOSH 5MIN,18MIN,31MIN, LEWIS HENDRY,21MIN,GARY MACKAY,72MIN, JAMIE COOPER 78MIN )
Huntly travelled to Aberdeen to face Portlethen in what can only be discribed as difficult conditions.(a very strong wind blowing across the field and a heavy pitch from the previous days heavy rainfall). Both teams started brightly and calum mackintosh skiffed the post with a cross come shot on 2 mins and kyle stewart clearing off his own goal line on 3mins,however huntly settled quickly with calum mackintosh finding space and firing home after 5 mins (0-1).Portlethen tried to hit back quick and on 6 mins hit the bar with a good effort. With the weather making things difficult huntly were finding it hard to find their usual passing rhythmn but went close on 10 mins with calum mackintosh hitting the post again. The same striker didnt have long to wait to get his second when huntly were awarded a corner and calum neatly despatched to put his side up 2-0 on 18 mins.Just 3 mins later and another goal to huntly, this time a neat glancing header from lewis hendry after a great ball in from andrew chalmers (0-3).Portlethen were finding it hard toget intothe game and were punished for some poor defending when good build up work from richard brown and dale coull, allowed calum mackintosh through on the keeper and the striker cooly slotted home to make the score 4-0,which it remained at untill half time.(0-4)Portlethen came out the stronger of the two sides in the second half but all efforts they had were dealt with with the huntly keeper, daniel ross.On 50 mins a kyle stewart effort flew over the bar,as did jamie coopers effort on 60 mins.on 65mins gary mackay was through one on one with the keeper but his effort hit the post.2 mins later and a calum mackintosh effort went just past the upright. On 72 mins some wing wizardry erom lewis hendry set up gary mackay who slotted home to score the first goal of the second half.(0-5).with just mins to go a fine strike from jamie cooper found its way under the portlethen keeper to make the final score 6-0 to the visitors.Well done again to all the players for a good solid performance and another 3 points which keeps them second in the league.
